Maxtrac 2in lowering shackles

I bought a set of maxtrac lowering shackles. the instructions don't show which way they are to be installed. I watched a few youtube videos. some show the flat piece on the axle side and others on the bumper side. it looks like if I install them with the flat piece on the bumper side I can get to the grease fitting better.

Just installed the Belltech 2".
Disappointed though, it's 2" with removing the block so didn't get the 3" I was after.

Not sure if the Maxtrac are a true 2" + block removal to net you 3".

Mine only lowered it 1 1/2 I have the 2wd so mine doesn't have the block.
