Lowering retractable running boards height?

I asked this once before any new ideas or after market product to lower the height of the retractable running boards
I have to carry a stool around so my wife with bad knees and short legs can get in and out of my truck

I've searched for a two-step aftermarket unit for my wife, but haven't found one. I toy with the idea of staking two, but really don't feel like designing the controller . . .

If my memory serves correctly, Superduty running boards hang down lower and are plug-and-play.

When exactly did they switch to ones like on my ‘25 king ranch that don’t go down much if any lower than the fixed ones. Really prefer the old ones like I had on my ‘18 that retracted lower. Might have to start looking for used junkyard ones and sell the ones off the new truck. The AMP ones are pretty much like the factory ones just not plug and play

We have installed and there is a thread that walks you through changing the hinges over to the superduty power hinges. They allow the steps to drop lower. Keep in mind we have a 6” lift on ours.

I’m waiting on delivery of my 2025 powerboost, going with BDS 4” coil over 2.5 on front and back. Then, I’m going to see if swapping the 150 hinges for the 250 hinges will work. Should have delivery this week or next, so I’ll report back with pics if it does.

GTWRECK. I’m anxiously waiting to see how this works out. Coming from a previous generation that was leveled and had bigger tires that was easier to step into than these new steps are higher at stock height than the old truck was.

I just received my truck. Planning on starting on Monday on lift and mods. Give me a couple weeks and I’m going to report back and include pics and measurements.

I will send pics next week. I have a 4” BDS lift on my 2025 powerboost. Combination of F250 parts and F150.

works great.

Pre lift height to running boards was 15”. Post lift is about 14.5”
