Had my truck for all of 4 weeks and some jackwad must have backed into me and run. I have cameras, but they only go back 3 days, and I didn't notice until I realized my front license plate was missing...

In any case, it's a 2025 F-150 Platinum and has a chrome lower bumper trim just above the tow rings (see part number 15 below). That seems to be the only actual damage (other than a missing license plate and bracket).

Does anybody know if that piece can be removed and replaced without disassembling the entire lower bumper assembly? I haven't dug in yet. Not sure if I want to replace it with Chrome again or save a couple hundred and just go black, since it's a black truck.

I've searched the Youtube archive and can't seem to find any videos showing that specific part.

No, I'm asking about number 15. On my truck it's chromed. It's the thinner part that curves under just above the tow rings.

Thank you so much! I'm scouring online and can find some older models and see a bunch on bumper removal, but none of the videos show that trim piece specifically. I suppose if I order the replacement (which is close to 300!) it will be more apparent how it attaches.

Start by removing the outer two trim pieces(11 and 12) then work your way down to (13 and 14) it’s a simple process!

Here’s a link to my instagram page I have a reel highlighting it:

This was super helpful, thank you! The piece in question is the lower piece that is below your license plate in the video (and appars to be attached to it). Looks like it just may clip into place.

Where did you find the replacement part for Item 15?
I forget the actual website, but it came from All American Ford in Old Bridge NJ who offered the best price. It was still $300, but that was less than half of what my local dealer wanted for it.

Digging up this thread because I came across it while trying to replace the same chrome trim part (#15, front lower molding) on my truck (2024 F-150 Lariat SuperCrew) with a gloss black version, and there was no clear solution posted here.

Here it goes:
  1. Remove the outer covers (#11) using a pry tool. They'll just pop off.
  2. Get under the truck and remove the active air dam from the motor by removing three (3) 8mm bolts on each side. Set the air dam aside.
  3. Now you have access to the back side of the molding piece. You will need to loosen, not remove, two 10mm nuts (one on each side) that pinches the outer edges of the molding in place.
  4. Remove four (4) white plastic clips that hold the molding onto the bumper by gently pushing in in the bottom side of the clip while applying upward pressure from below or using a thin screw driver under the head of the clip.
  5. Pry off the entire lower molding and center cover, which is attached to it.
  6. Remove the center cover from the lower molding by gently pressing down on the five (5) plastic clips along the top, and prying the bottom away from the three (3) metal clips on the bottom.
Installation is the reverse of the removal.

Note: If you have a front license plate bracket, you will need to remove that first, but that's a pretty easy process as long as you have four hands.
