Hello, new member, long time follower. I know there have been other threads that I have seen, but nothing recently with any updates. I have a 22 Platinum PowerBoost that twice now has had an extremely loud pop, then followed by loud static through all the speakers.

First time was a month ago, and now again this week. First time was loud pop, followed by the static as I just got into truck. Second time was with wife doing 60 and was scared to death, but no pop, just loud static. And it didn’t stop
for at least 10 minutes.

I am hard of hearing already, but this truly hurts my ears. I did make sure my fuses were all in tight as well. In the engine compartment the majority were lose, inside, majority were set properly. Use Bluetooth and Apple.

I know there are a few chats about this with different headers, but I’ll add to those as well. Has anyone ever gotten a response or fix on this? Or any ideas on why it’s happening? Thanks in advance for your time and assistance! Jim

Unfortunately not much has been learned. I've been following this pretty closely, even before it happened to me. Big issue is that dealer can't replicate it, because we don't really know what conditions are causing it to happen. A few have even been able to get it to a dealership while the static was happening, but it stops before anyone can really do much.

We know how to make it stop (pull the amp fuse, disconnect the Amp, or disconnect the battery) but not sure how to prevent it.

There does seem to be some correlation at times with android auto/Apple car play, but not always.

From what I've heard Ford is aware of the situation, but again, because replicating it can be a problem, nothing has been done.

TJE, thanks for the rapid reply and update! As my post alluded to, it is scary loud, and while driving, even scarier. Hopefully a fix will become available quickly, as it’s not fun to experience. Ps, love my truck!

No problem! It is a pretty miserable sound to be sure. I've also started waiting until Android auto connects and I have volume before I drive off. Seems like the time it happened to me it was Android Auto related. There was no volume for some reason and I didn't notice it until I started driving, when I tried to adjust the volume with android auto/change song the first pop happened. When I switched to XM it did it again and thats when the static happened. Luckily I was able to pull over, and I knew what was happening since I read about it and knew how to get it off.

Somone on the other thread mentioned if it happens to try and switch to a non digital input like AM/FM radio. Again, doesn't fix the problem, but if it stops the static we might be able to narrow at least some of the instances down to an issue with a digital signal vs analog

Hi there, Jim! I can look into your F-150’s noise concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your F-150’s VIN?

I have the same issue and ford does absolutely nothing. I contacted them and all they did was, nothing! Reason I sent the following response to their so called help.

Dealing with you as a person, I have no issues with. As far as what your position is or what your jobs actual purpose is, I have no idea. The only purpose that your position had in this issue was to give me another person to repeat my issue to. I’m so disappointed/confused with ford if this is actually really what this job was created for.
fyi they ripped my truck apart. Damaged three interior panels and broke the center console sliding door. Now I have to go back and have these hacks fix what they damaged. 75k for a truck and they treat it like a yugo. Ohh and it wasn’t fixed. Fords response “let me know if it happens again. Lmao

Happened to me today too. 2022 F50 Platinum with 900 miles. Luckily I was at the dealership where I bought it for another reason and went directly to a Service Rep. He came with me and heard it himself, stated that he hasn't encountered this issue before. Had my B&O unleashed on Sirius when this occurred. Service Rep switch over to FM radio and suddenly the noise disappeared. He went back to Sirius radio and everything was back to normal. He said he would research this issue and get back to me. Hopefully it was a one - time glitch.

Thanks for sharing this, good to know the idea of switching from digital to analog has some merit.
