Adjustability is a big key for me as well, as I'm running some 285/60R20 Toyo AT3s on 20x9 (+25 offset) wheels. They JUST fit without any rubbing at stock height, but I haven't done more than commute in it so far. I just want to get a bit of wiggle room while maintaining some of the rake and improving ride quality.
I’m with you. I read on some other model trucks guys are getting as much as 1/2” of settling. I don’t want a 2” kit to settle at 1.5”. But I also don’t want a 3” kit that holds true to 3”.

Reading over at Tacomaworld, guys are getting them with very little or no preload out of the box. So I’m thinking a 2” set is really 2”+ once you adjust the collar for a little more preload. so it sounds like my first concern about a 2” kit settling low could just be cranked back up to 2”. So a 3” lift coilover would just have a 1” longer body to start with, not extra preload.

Incase anyone like myself comes across an older thread, I have a 22 stx 4x4 and I put the falcon sport tow front struts and rear shocks. The front reuses the factory coil springs. Pain in the rear, I have them left on stock ride hight I put the tremor steering knuckle on 1 year later it it’s awesome. Icon makes it and it’s only 360$. Gives you better cv angle, control arm angle and tie rod angle. But you have to lift truck at least 1 in. But huge difference. I have a spacer puck. Truck handles way better than stock. Little stiffer. For rear, the falcons are 3 way adjusted and huge difference between soft and tow the firmest. Revolutionized my towing. As well as RAS spring helpers. They also work as track bars as they don’t allow leaf springs to bend easy. So I have a super solid set up. So much so that my 0-60 and 1/4 mile times improved so much on my dragy I had to take it to the track. Even though it was on stock wheels and tires 4door ecoboost with stock exhaust and muffler and subwoofers, cold air intake, stock mount CVF intercooler pump 92 and extensive tune from Mike at MPT. Ran 11.91 in 23 mph head wind my first time ever down track

That being said, I rode in a 2022 tundra with 6in rough country vertex lift and it felt soooo good, I’m gonna ditch my front falcons and spacer and get the 3in vertex adjustable coil overs and lower it to 2.5in love a little rake. I think that’s better than getting 2in and cranking up.
