I will be away for about three months. I had hoped to store my PB somewhere where they would periodically start/drive it, but no luck. I can’t leave it on a battery minder either. The manual says to disconnect the 12 volt, but is that just the main 12 volt or both it and the secondary? The manual is not clear and I have not seen a definitive answer in the posts I’ve read through.

I too noticed it suggested the 12V battery to be disconnected. Singular. (as well as having the Hybrid Battery at 50% SOC)

At least if you disconnect the main 12V, it won't be drained regardless.

Is the secondary system not connected at all to the Hybrid battery? I assume the Hybrid must have some connection to the 12 volt system generally when turned off, or they would not make that recommendation.

The Hybrid battery is always connected to the 12V system via the DC/DC converter. It behaves as the alternator, in fact, and thus is tapped and can drain the Hybrid battery if the ICE can't start in order to recharge it.

I also believe the auxiliary 12V battery is connected to the main 12V battery, but has an isolator for some purpose that I'm not positive about its role.

So, then would it make sense to disconnect both 12 batteries for long term storage to avoid draining the Hybrid battery?

I think it would be prudent.
It would definitely put the truck in deep sleep mode the old fashioned way?

I thought a battery tender wasn't an option.
But sure, trickle charging is a great approach in my opinion.

A power outlet for a battery tender is not an option. Since it will be outside, solar could be. I had not even realized that was an option until I saw it on another thread. I wonder how effective that solar charger would be in the cloudy northwest? The front windshield will face south, which should help.

If it will be outside I assume you could start it through Ford Pass and let it idle for 30 minutes once every couple weeks or so.

I think you can only do that twice before having to actually start it. That’s what I’ve heard anyway.
