As a reservation holder I had the opportunity to be the first customer to drive and camp in the new LightShip RV. They also let me use my own 2023 F-150 PowerBoost to "tow" the LightShip. The F-150 PowerBoost with PPoB 7.2 kW is the perfect vehicle for this new category of RV.

I am beginning to document my experience here, on RVForms.com.

I guess I missed his first post, but it still appears you frustrated KDP quite a bit.
Great write-up and thanks for bringing it to our attention.
At the introduction of the Pebble I became curious of this new category.
I hope that in my future, and when I am considering a trailer, the kinks in all our worked out.

It looks incredible, but 250k is way out of my price range. Enjoy the experience, and I look forward to reading more about your adventures.

Very neat setup! I was a little surprised to see Lithium-Ion batteries and not LFP but I do understand the option.

Having made two trips to the factory my takeaway is that I am amazed at the workmanship. Anyone familiar with typical RV manufacturing will understand no RV is built like this.

Part 2 of the Out of Spec review. First time the media has been invited to tow the LightShip. Looks like Out of Spec Reviews will be back to do a deep dive drive on the production version of LightShip. This video was shot pulling one of the pre-production prototypes. There are enough changes between the pre-production and customer ready LightShip to wait a month and test the current version.

I am encouraging LightShip to call over the TFL guys and let them run LightShip up the Ike Gauntlet. TFL just published a new video here comparing high profile trailers to low.

More information on the LightShip over at the LightShip Owners Forum.

Cool designs but I can't believe the pricing for a bumper-pull trailer. Clearly targeted at the "affluent consumer market". The 1% part of it.
Old pricing information. First model released was the Cosmos which is the founders edition with other incentives. That model is sold out.

The only two models available to order now are:

Atmos $184,00.

Panos $151,000.

Those models are priced very competitively with premium models of the Airstream towable.

Here is an image of me towing the LightShip with my PowerBoost.

My LightShip build (VIN #4) is now on the line.

Full details in this thread.

Also, LightShip has added an F-150 PowerBoost to the test fleet of tow vehicles joining a Rivian and an F-350. They are doing sway testing with these vehicles in addition to documenting towing efficiency. So the LightShip will have good documentation about towing performance in EV, HEV and pure ICE pickup tow vehicles.

Estimated delivery date for VIN#4 is December 31st. But it could slip a bit.

What kind of axles does it have and what weight rating do they have? Are they torsion? I guess it has regenerative braking?

I don't know the OEM for axles. Torsion yes and regenerative braking via integrated electric motor, inverter and gear box.

Some views of the drive system.

Very interesting shock setup. I’d love to see everything close up. It’s out of my price range but very, very intriguing.
