Lightest 295/70/18 A/T?

So I've looked through numerous threads here and have decided that I want to replace the OEM 275/65 with a 295/70. I know MPG will suffer especially while towing but I never tow more than ~3500-4000# (RZR + ATV on 16' tandem at most) and I am not overly concerned with it, I'd just like to keep unsprung weight lower strictly for drivability. For the life of me I can't seem to find any load range D (or less) a/t tires in that size. I don't feel a load range E is necessary for what I will be doing, but if that's what I need to get the look I'm going for then so be it. The lightest 10 ply tire that I have seen so far is the Cooper AT3 XLT.

I'd really like to try the Falken Wildpeak AT3W as that's all the rave right now but they are considerably heavier than the Cooper according to the specs listed on the DT site. Is there other options that I'm not seeing out there? I know DT doesn't have a ton of selection but it seems like most other tire websites function like crap lol.

Which has been discontinued or the Nitto Recon Grappler Stock #(218880) is the Standard load version that weighs 52 Lbs. None of the big vendors have had these Recons in stock yet at a good price but they can be found online. Another option that is load range E but lightweight is the Nokian Oupost AT (availiable at Discount Tire) @55 Lbs. I have not found a lot of reviews for it since it is quite new. Any way you decide to go you can go ahead and say goodbye to atleast $1700.

Cooper AT3 XLT has my vote. Price/weight and capable. Just not sure its the lightest but not the heaviest .

Which has been discontinued or the Nitto Recon Grappler Stock #(218880) is the Standard load version that weighs 52 Lbs. I did see the Nokian but like you I have not seen much for reviews and I'd like a little more aggressive look. I have not seen the Recon's in stock anywhere either and the G2 seems obsolete. Everywhere I have seen then they're out of stock/discontinued. As for the money side of it, it is definitely a factor but not limiting options because of it. No reason to cheap out on tires when that's the only thing connecting my truck to the road.

It looks as though that's the best overall option so far. Aggressive enough look to scratch the itch and decent specs for a tire that size that comes in at a decent price point. According to DT specs the they're only 4lb/tire heavier than the Nokian. I feel 16lb overall is somewhat negligible.

Still very open to other options/opinions.

I have never heard of this site. That doesn't seem like a bad price, but the website has me skeptical lol. I'll do a little more digging, thanks!

I can honestly without a doubt say this was the best AT Tire I have used.
They are all really good , look cool and are capable. I just found the Coopers to be great priced, not heavy, side wall/tread still look aggressive and they were very quiet on the highway!

It's a great looking tire. I had them years ago on a Silverado in OEM size and they performed well. It seems like I've narrowed it down to these 2 options unless others start to chime in. The AT3 XLT and Recon Grappler. I'd be willing to bet the AT3 is quieter just due to the tread design but that isn't necessarily a deal breaker for me. Between the muffler delete (oh, the wonderful 5.0 noises) and radio I doubt I would notice it much. Being in WI I'm more concerned with the snow/wet performance of the tire than noise. Although I will say I had Venom Terra Hunter X/T on my stocks for winter on my previous F150 and they were horrendously loud, would never buy them again lol.

Anyone else reading this that runs the recon grappler, how is it?

Yes me! hahaha I just went from those coopers to the Recons. We dont need to talk about looks because all Nittos look good. Performance wise i have yet to see how good their bite is but without a doubt its louder then the coopers. At 65 MPH although not super loud , you can hear the Recons , while you cant hear much on the coopers. No issues at all so far with the recons after 1k miles, rides pretty smoothly . Had some rain but not crazy and handled it well.

Nice! I just assumed you were running the Coopers because of your previous comments. Why did you switch? Being that you've run both and didn't immediately bash the AT3 because you switched I'd consider your opinion pretty valid lol.

I tried and was disappointed but they don't make a 35x12.5x17 . They jump from 34inch straight to 37in tire. So yeah that's the only reason .

The Bridgestone dueler are 55 lB . I’m in the same boat . Looking for a light weight 295/70/18 . I have the stock tremor tires and wheel which are light weight , on a powerboost so been on the hunt for larger light At tire .

The Firestone Destination XT is 50lbs but that is 275/70/18. I'm considering them.

I think the Nitto Recons are the lightest in 295/70/18
