295/70/18 recon grappler vs 275/70/18 general grabber atx

Hey everybody! Just wanted to get any feedback or recommendations before pulling the trigger on upgrading my tires. I have narrowed it down to 295/70/18 recon in the SL with them being 52 pounds, or the 275/70/18 general grabber atx (stock tremor) 46 pounds. I have a 2.7 2wd that’s level. I understand gas is going to take a hit either way but I’m more concerned with loss of power and acceleration and not sure if the recons are going to be perhaps to heavy and big? I would like to go as big as I can without completely losing all the quickness I have now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Are you staying with a factory wheel. 52lbs per tire is not bad, but lighter will always be better.

I would say it’s personal preference, what gear ratio do you have?

Aw, you can easily turn the 295/70R18. It will look amazing!

I did the 285/70/18, and they feel much, much lighter than the previous 295/60/20s

I'm running the ATX on my 2.7. You won't lose quickness, it's more that with the more aggressive treads you can feel the road resistance and it'll take a little more fuel to keep it at speed. I'm still getting low 11 L/100km on average, where with the stock Goodyears I was low 10 L/100km.

Ive been running the 285/70 18’s (No Poke)for two years now and they are still pretty quiet and are wearing evenly. My mileage is around 16-17 with a best of 19 on a trip to Minn and back from NC. My truck has the 3.5L so there will be a difference but like others have said, go for it. These trucks don’t get really all that good mileage anyway, kind of an aero brick.
