If you had to pick between a loaded Lariat High BAP and a base Platinum which would you choose and why?

Both trucks are the same color and same engine.

Loaded Lariat includes HUD, B&O Unleashed, and dual exhaust.

Platinum does not, but does include a better looking front end, power deployable running boards, and better seats.

Lariat w/ the V8. Seats are the same except the massaging function right? This is the boat I am in. I want the platinum cause of the looks, but the loaded Lariat is hard to beat.

The grill is easy to change, so I'd base your options on the interior and features you want.

Also keep in mind the build and price tool isn't exactly up to date...I see they don't show the Platinum tailgate on its imaging, so I don't know if they eliminated that, or if the image is just wrong...Personally I don't like the tailgates from past Platinum's. And yesterday for me the Black appearance package wasn't an option for the Lariat, but now it shows up in there today, so just be cautious as to what that tool is showing you as available/not available for each model.

Loaded up Lariat BAP with the 5.0 and dual exhaust is the winner in my book this refresh. Good front end and sound out the tails, only one I’d purchase now. Glad I bought in 2023 with the STX getting freight trained on looks.

Changing the Lariat grille to Platinum would also require changing the hood.

Also both trucks would have the 3.5 PowerBoost.

The regular tailgate is available on both trucks.

Platinum only because resale will be significantly higher and the interior and exterior are nicer IMO...I like the tremor hood on the Platinum better than the standard hood

I always think it is better to go up a trim instead of adding a lot of options, if it was a base lariat BAP then it is a tough call as the cost spread would be much wider.

I hear this a lot but the leather is much nicer and I like the suede/alcantara inserts too.

to the OP, I’ve owned a 22 Lariat mid that I converted to a lariat high and now I own a 22 platinum high. It’d be hard to convince me to go back

Oh $h!t I didn't even notice they put the tremor hood on the platinum, that makes the outer appearance swap a bit pricey...that really sucks. I guess I'll have to throw my vote to the Platinum then, I very much dislike the new Lariat grill. Its also too bad you can't remove the power running boards and add the BO unleashed to it...

Personally I think the upper level Lariat has more going for it. My perception is skewed in that I've got MCS raptor seats that'd carry over and a better seat than either of the trims. Though not fond of coffee accents in lariat's color palette.

2023 platinum 5.0 Blackout
I drove both, went with the platinum, 5.0 blackout package, seats are more comfortable in the platinum, only thing that sucks is no heated steering wheel, no massaging seats, no park assist thanks to chips ( so they say ) but interior is nicer on the platinum. I would imagine platinum will hold value a bit better also.

Wanted to go Platinum but dealer said "good luck" on getting one vs. timing to get a Lariat BAP. So, I compromised and ordered the Lariat loaded up with "heated steering wheel" which is nice to have in WI.

Anything you prefer on the Lariat over the Platinum?

This is why I am considering a GMC AT4x. Comes loaded with all the bells and whistles for generally the same price as a platy. And I really only want a V8 so the new platy is out of consideration.
