Hey there —
So, for the past month or so I have been noticing a loud klunk up front when hitting small bumps (the ideal candidate is a seem in the road — a crack or even better, maybe a lip the size of a driveay crease... so like an inch). I have taken my truck to the dealership and they re-torqued everything. Shook everything. Took me back there and we banged on everything. We can't source it. Tech heard it when we went for a drive.
Here's the build:
- Fox 2.5 Shocks w/ SPC UCAs (shocks were rebuilt 30k ago and ball joints replaced 20k ago)
- Wheels are Raptor takeoffs wrapped in 285/75r17
- Rear suspension is block removal and custom pack (about +1" height)
Any thoughts on what it could be? My gut is saying the shocks need rebuilding (again), but I seriously HATE that process. And I just got an alignment and fresh rod ties. I'm on the fence of scrapping the Fox 2.5 setup all together and buying the Eibach Pro setup. At this point, with the number of times I've rebuilt the rears and now the front a 2nd time in 50k miles, I would be ahead.
Thanks in advance!
