Key fob issue

[22LariHybrid]

22 powerboost lariat. Key fob issue. None of the buttons work, but will work with door handle touch and start up. That's it. Also, I would not touch fob and truck unlock itself 100 times a minute. Any advice, maybe a battery issue?

I had the same thing happen for my 22 PB Lariat and it was the battery. I think the fob might go through batteries faster than most. I now keep an extra around.

On the subject of key fobs, has anyone successfully programmed a third fob? I bought an OEM fob and followed the instructions in the owners manual and in a YouTube video, but I can't get it to fully function. I can open the doors with it but that's about all. I changed the battery but it still didn't work. I sent it back and got another and still no joy.

Has anyone done it and is there a trick?

I did and mine works perfectly. The only thing I have not tried is to have the hard copy emergency key cut. I followed the youtube video.

Jump through all the hoops and get the message on dash.

Look very closely at the frequency listed on the fob in tiny writing. If you buy one with wrong frequency it will work only in the emergency slot and not work as remote.

The timing is critical and it goes fast. Just line everything up so you can quickly go through it. I wrote out each step on a large easy to read outline and there was not time wasted thinking about what needed to be done next. Good luck.

I bought a 3rd FOB from Amazon for $50 and was able to program it. After a couple weeks I quit getting the welcome lighting and once in a while it would take a second to unlock. This lead me to believe maybe the battery it came with was low, so I opened it up to replace it only to find out that it's not replaceable!

Anyway, beware that if you buy a 3rd (non Ford) FOB, it maybe only work for a short time and then you'll be out $50.
