I got 3.5.2 yesterday (9/16).

I’ve noticed *no* changes, so I’m inclined to believe Ford‘s vague statement about it being the “update that allows future updates” in that it’s some sort of foundational update for an upcoming update, presumably either libraries needed for the future update, or an underlying OS/app update.
Actually, minor update regarding my comment about the update. I had been having some issues with certain apps (mainly SiriusXM*) not allowing me to resume audio if a call came in or I turned the radio off, and not being accessible to onscreen CarPlay button commands unless I opened them on my phone first. Without any updates on the relevant apps or to iOS on my phone, now with the 3.5.2, those issues have magically resolved. Now, it’s entirely possible it is coincidental, but it’s also possible Ford did some bug patching in the release as well. Guess we’d know if Ford’s developers gave actual release notes instead of a marketing generated looking message, but alas, they do not.

*my vehicle was a forced delete of SiriusXM 360L and connected nav, so I can only access SiriusXM via the app on my phone.

Here is the link to the PDF that was mentioned in other threads regarding the updates from Ford that appear on the NHSTA website: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10217136-0001.pdf (attached PDF as well to comment). 3.2.1 mentions: " Screen Resizing When you’re using Android Auto™ or Apple CarPlay®, you can now make them appear on your touchscreen in the size you prefer. " for 2021-2022 MY F-150.

Not a fan of how android works right now. Maps opens by default and there is no way to change that. I actually have android auto deactivated.

Amd apparently this release did not required auto updates activiated.....sinve mine is off and still got this update.

Pretty innocuous update that was amazingly fast. Didn’t notice any changes, everything worked before and after.
Hit accept on the 3.1.1 and by the time I walked upstairs from the garage gut the notice that 3.5.2 was installed. 1 minute maybe?
I was hoping to see my BC map express date move, but still showing expiration 10-9-22

That's basically an echo of what I experienced, which is why I has asked if anyone knew whether it was one or two updates? Even stranger to me is that I manually installed the GWM update that suddenly popped up for my Job2 2022, so was one of these (3.1.1/3.5.2) a GWM update? I highly doubt this truck had 2 GWM updates in 2-3 days, but I guess it's possible?

Only other possibility is that FDRS update didn't update the cloud records and so OTA attempt was simply redundant?

Well, I guess 3.5.2 is done? (it's my first dance with OTA update)

I had auto-update toggled OFF, got the onscreen message about 3.5.2 being available a day or so ago, so toggled auto-update ON this afternoon and later got a message on FordPass saying it was done.

Foolishly I failed to look at the "About Sync" screen before all this, but after it's showing:

SYNC 4, Software Version 22012_PRODUCT
Revision: 321

When I check the Software Updates screen and hit "Update Now" is says 'None available'. Does that all look correct for post 3.5.2 installation on a '22 Lariat (5/22 build month) with no previous OTA updates?

Since I accepted 3.1.1 and it installed the 3.5.2, seems reasonable they are linked. The GWM, would that increment the revision number? Mine still shows the same value.
overall I’d say it’s not a substantial update given its speed and the fact it did not require a shutdown. it started installing better turning ignition off, no 2 min shutdown warning If read about.

Has anyone verified that the car play is now full screen with this update? I had an update the other day on my 22, but car play is still the same.

I was under the impression an upcoming update would enable that feature. I checked mine after 3.5.2 and it does not yet have the full size button in CarPlay the Lightning folks were getting when theirs updated a few weeks back.

I noticed yesterday running errands (in and out of the truck a lot), that my android auto connected via wireless way faster than it usually does. Usually about 10 seconds, yesterday it was less than 5. Haven't had a new android auto update. That being said, it could just be the way Android auto lacks consistency, and I could be back to 10 seconds today.

I’m thinking some may have seen a glitch for the higher versioning than 3.1.1. It doesn’t make sense there would be another right after for 3.5.2 versioning when the previous comment (I attached the PDF of version) version 3.2.1 hasn’t happened yet. 3.2.1 enables the full screen scaling for android auto and car play.

That’s possible. I suppose it is also possible they revised the release schedule and the full-screen option got bumped back, and the document provided to NHTSA is now outdated and superseded by another we aren’t yet privy to, or that Ford’s obfuscated version numbering (PowerUp numbers, Sync version numbers, build numbers not always coinciding) is causing some version mismatch. My F-150 -and- FordPass both displayed the PowerUp number 3.5.2. Is it also possible the Lightning, despite not being a 2021 model, got entered with NHTSA as a 2021-2022 model year for some arcane regulatory reason and we’re seeing their updates in this document?

That said, if the previous version was 3.1.1, an emergency revision would make sense as 3.1.2, and so a typo in the middle field could result in 3.5.2 pretty easily. Again, if they released proper release notes we’d be able to piece it out. Hint hint Ford. Then again it looks like Power Ups aren’t sequential for each model, and some versions skip models, which makes it more confusing to keep track.

That that said, I’ve had the Alexa icon since delivery, which doesn’t correspond with what that release schedule says.

3.2.1 is the update that supposedly allows the expansion of Android auto. Something of notice is that the terminology in the 3.1.1 screenshots being posted do not match the doc from Ford. Everything is so out of order between vehicle types

The more I look into it, the more I think Ford isn’t sequentially numbering VEHICLE releases, but incrementing the counter up with each Power-Up update when they update -any- vehicle with Power-Up capability. When I look at the numbering for F-150, F-150 Lightning, and Mach-E releases it seems like they’re bumping the Power-Up release numbers by release, regardless of if a vehicle is skipped. So for example if they released XX.YY.01 for the F-150, but XX.YY.02 for the Mach-E, they’re not making the next F-150 release XX.YY.02, but rather XX.YY.03. That’s the only way I can make sense of the Power-Up version numbers.

This has precedent. Apple did this with iOS before they split off iOS and iPadOS, so that versions for iPhone and iPad were not always sequential. You’d have iOS 4.0.0 come out for iPhone, but iPad wouldn’t get that, they’d get 4.2.0, and then the next iOS release for iPhone would jump to 4.3.0 (the numbers are made up).

So according to my FordPass app, my most recent power update was Sept. 12th and was for the rear cameras. Is there a way to check and see what the most recent update is from the truck? I have auto updates turned on but shows none are available. Thanks
