Is USB port power on all the time? (to power dash cam even when engine is shut off)

Power does shut off to the mirror when the truck is shut off. If yours doesn't have the harness connector above the console, you can tie into fuse 36 as it powers the rear view mirror circuit.

Ok guys just found out that the usb ports does turn off (in my truck anyway) after 1 hr and 30 mins. Now the question is that way too long for the usb port to run the camera without impacting the battery to bad?

I purchased the viofo dashcam as well, but I also got the hardwire kit. It has a switch that will kill the dashcam if your battery voltage drops to a certain threshold. I have yet to have any battery issues and my PowerBoost sits for DAYS without being started.

Looks like this would be the route to take vs running the camefa by itself into the fuse panel
