The center console won’t hold itself up when I open it and it’s very difficult to get something out when I’m driving. Is there anyway to tighten the spring to make it hold itself up more without wanting to slam shut?
I have the Interior Work Surface if it matters

There are a couple of threads about this and some youtube videos for the fix. Search youtube for the nickel trick and that helps.

I was actually going to ask here about the 2024's and if Ford fixed this so thank you for saving me the trouble. :)

I use this fix:

Awesome thank you! I did try the search feature on this site before posting but couldn’t find anything… user error on my part I’m sure!
And no, 2024 had not fixed it but glad to see the folks here found a way!

To save yourself some trouble from going back in a second time, use two nickels on each side the first time you do it. :D

It basically tells you to take out the covering until you expose the 2 tension springs and you can slip in a nickel to make the springs have more tension. How long this lasts IDK but people do say it works fine when you just do it.

lol! Brilliant. I too keep a microfiber in the cab. I will need to steal this idea.

I have found the center console frustrating too, but it never occurred to me to ask about it. Thank you all!

Just found some videos about the nickels... seems super easy and yes I'll do 2 from the get-go. Thank you all for the quick advice, I now have a fun weekend mod to do...

Reporting back that 4 nickels behind the springs worked great and took less than 5 minutes
I tried just 2 nickels (one behind each spring) to start and it was better but not perfect. 2 behind each spring is perfect
