Does anyone here happen to know where these wires are shorted that seem to cause this issue? I just started having this issue with my truck and my dealer is 2+ weeks behind on looking at new issues for walk ins and If I make an appointment to have it looked it their earliest availability is April 2023. Unfortunately they don't provide loaners, so if I were to drop my truck off I would have to find another way to get around for those 2+ weeks and don't really have a solution for that right now.

Has this issue not been resolved by FORD? I have a 2022 Platinum and my interior lights will not auto come on when I open the door with the FOB in hand. My dome button is active to allow the interior lights to auto come on with no luck.
The lights do work when I have the ignition on or truck on. Manual lights also work.
Is there a chance your battery is low and the truck is in Deep Sleep Mode to preserve the battery? I don't drive my truck much and often get a notification via the FordPass app that, "Remote features disabled to preserve battery". If I remember correctly, when it is in deep sleep mode the welcome lights don't come on and the interior lights don't come on when I open the door. However, once I turn on the truck, everything works as normal which sounds similar to what you are experiencing. Just throwing something out there to see if it sticks.

You are exactly correct: when it is in deep sleep mode the welcome lights don't come on and the interior lights don't come on when I open the door. However, once I turn on the truck, everything works as normal. Why does not the owner's manual state this "Deep Sleep Mode"?

Some history. I've recently noticed that the interior lights, exterior courtesy lights, etc do not come on when I approach the truck with the key fob in hand. When I open any door, the interior stays dark. All of this used to work. The lights works when I manually toggle the on/off button. I feel like there was a time starting a couple months ago when I started noticing this behavior, but it was intermittent. Thought it had something to do with a code upgrade.

After reviewing these forum posts I have come to realize the truck is in "Deep Sleep Mode". Says so right on the dash screen. Never took the time to notice it before. I don't use the Ford Pass app much, but when I opened it on my phone I had the same "Deep Sleep Mode" warning and couldn't use the app.

This is starting to make sense. Since the pandemic started, I've been working at home and the truck sits for long periods of time. I guess I'm just not driving it enough to keep a good charge. I'm going to charge the battery and reset the BMS. Hopefully that's all it needs.

2021 F150:
For the past several months we have been without interior lights when opening the doors. Took to the dealer and the attributed to a low state of charge on battery. Load tested battery & it passed.
Brought truck home, opened door, and no lights!

Contacted dealer again - they have not seen this issue before and told me to bring it back again which is scheduled for later this month.

I see several other threads with this same issue of non-working interior lights (perimeter lighting not working either).

Hoping someone can offer advice so dealer can get some ideas of where to look. Thanks.

Take it back to the dealer. Just got my truck on Saturday, and lights are all working. I’m sure it’s an easy fix.
Been there, done that. Dealer stumped. Wants to keep it there, but no loaner. Need my vehicle for work.

Int. lights have been mostly inactive for the last year. 25 Service appointments since getting this junk truck last year and officially sick of it.

Just a follow-up to my last post. I charged my battery to full, reset the Battery Management System and everything is back to normal! NOTE - the reset of the BMS was required - 1/2 day after charging the battery I still had no interior/perimeter lights, etc. until I did the reset. Been good for several days now. At least in my case, the low battery was definitely the problem.

You should probably purchase a new battery for the truck. Batteries are a big issue with these trucks. ? ?

Finally got my truck, great so far, but interior overhead lights aren't working. No light in media bin or center console, nor do door lights come on. I've screwed with every combo of settings and nada. Buttons in headliner do nothing (and aren't lit either).

Almost like bcm isn't provisioned right or something.

Am I missing something stupid or do I have to put this in the shop already?
There is a YouTube video put out by Ford that explains how it’s BMS(Battery Monitoring System) works. Explains why we’re having these intermittent electrical issues with our trucks. Seems the battery isn’t good enough to support all our electrical systems.

my issue was a pinched wire in a harness behind the dash.

Hey there! I can look into your F-150’s concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?
