Ford's CEO admits to a 'reality check' during F-150 Lightning Route 66 road trip | Fox Business

Infrastructure is not there, YET, and looks like it will be a long time coming, especially in the off the beaten track areas.
There’s a scene from the movie, “Ford v Ferrari“……

  • Henry Ford II starts crying after Shelby gives him a ride in the Ford GT40 Mk II]
  • Carroll Shelby: Mr. Ford? Are you okay?
  • [Henry II continues to sob]
  • Carroll Shelby: Mr. Ford? You all right?
  • Henry Ford II: I had no idea.
”I had no idea“ perfectly describes Jim Farley.

The fact that it's a surprise is a major problem. Hopefully Farley directs a large portion of investment into Ford branded cross compatible infrastructure. I would like to see an even higher level of industry collaboration beyond just standards establishment.

Who am I kidding, Farley is a moron.

I would think a CEO of a major corporation should know their customer base

You would think the CEO of a major corporation would have a basic idea, even an inkling of his product, product performance and the customer base.....apprently not.

I’d be happy if Ford would take a chunk of their EV government subsidy and put it towards a more efficient parts supply chain. A lot of us are still waiting for our freakin’ replacement windshield wipers motor from a recall announced in January for a resolution in Q3. Well, Q3 is quickly running out. How hard can it be? And don’t blame Covid anymore.

First it's a Twitter marketing play.

Emphasis on play. Like a play on a stage. Lines are discussed before the camera rolls. Second and third takes are recorded. Discussions take place on every single word/comment before it's posted.

Farley, along with thousands of others at Ford are well aware of the state of the EV infrastructure. It's literally why they made the much publicized agreement with Tesla. To which everyone else quickly followed suit.

Not saying that I know what the CEO of any company does or doesn't know or understand. But I can tell when I'm viewing something authentic or not. Or at least I think I should be able to.

I agree, but the CEO’s of most of these companies are so far out of touch with reality. This includes pretty much any financial and political elite, IMO.

I couldn't agree more, just look at Anheuser Busch and Disney for example, they have no idea of their customer base anymore...

The old farmer said you can't put the cart before the horse. I live in Eastern NC & there are very few charges in this part of the state. 99% of the people here will not buy electric vehicles. A self charging hybrid would be a better way to go. That being said I just traded a 2023 f150 platinum powerboost back to the dealer for a F150 platinum none powerboost because of issues of the truck not starting & the dealer or ford new what was causing the problem.
