Good and bad news.

Ok. So I have the electrician come to install the 50A generator inlet for the house.

Ran a 30A twist lock to 14-50NEMA dog bone, then generator cable. Was able to run all the 120V no problem. I did have to disconnect the ground from the box to make the truck work, as many have said.

However, when I tried to run one of the A/C unit, it overloaded the truck. I then switched to the 11kw generator I have (8k running with propane). It did hit 10.8kw on the generator display, when the compressor started, and that is with the soft starter that I had the electrician installed today as well. Guess I'll either live without AC using the truck, or use truck as a back up power source.
if you have to remove the ground your electrician is a hack and doesn’t understand or follow National Electrical code! I’ve posted many times on this and the reasons why

I don't remove the ground of the house. He just disconnected the ground wire on the inlet box. House is always grounded. And truck is grounded when using generator. I don't see why there's a issue. Does "National Electrical Code" required you to ground both end at the same time?

I'm just going to say this anyway ! You guys are trying to run your house off your Truck ? Sounds like a Bad Idea !! sorry. I don't think it's built to do that !! I might be wrong.

Not everything of course. And it's for emergency not for daily of course.
Mostly both fridge and freezer, lights, Internet, surveillance cameras, etc.

But I totally get your concerns. I'm going to connect the ground back since I'm going to use my portable generator as the main backup, and the truck being the 2nd backup

In this instance, you are wrong. It is built to be more of a 7.2kw generator than a hybrid vehicle, so powering anything, house included, is what this is made to do. The PowerBoost is a unique vehicle until the 2026 Ramcharger comes out. And even then they are different. Also right now the PB is real and has been for a while, while the Ramcharger is still basically vaporware.

Many people run most of their homes on the PB when the power goes out, and I do on a regular basis.

The PB sips gas and a regular 7000 watt generator, guzzles it.

The PB is a bonded neutral generator so there is a proper way to hook it up but Generac makes a transfer switch specifically for this set up and a lot people here use it.

To my understanding, there's no PB in tremor. And I don't think you have the 240V 30A port 7.2kw generator in the back. For gas model you only got 2.4kw and normal 120V outlets

Yea so True, you must have a better set up. I ran a power saw in my other truck and the PC on trips , worked fine. Haven't used it in this truck yet. Don't plan on it. But you never know !

Ford literally markets it as a home backup solution.
It's Ford's fault, mostly, that you think this discussion is about the electrical option you have in your Tremor. 😁

It's apples and watermelons.

My response was to the person saying he didn't think it was meant to be used for home. I was saying Ford markets the pro power 7.2 and 9.6 as home backups.

I have a powerboost and use it as a backup.

I was actually responding to the same member as you, but mistakenly quoted your post. I'm an old man, and that's my excuse. 😁

When you remove the ground from the truck while powering your house with it there is absolutely no connection between the house ground and the truck ground! This means you have no grounding system in your

Here’s a sketch I made Showing why you need the truck ground.
Ford F-150 Installed my Generator inlet for house and tested the truck 1755953789613-k6
The NEC mandates that you can only have 1 ground per service. You have your utility service and then the truck is a service. If the house power is off and you use the truck as your power source without isolating the house ground, the truck “sees” the second ground and goes into ground fault.

As we've told you before. That cartoon is wrong. The ground fault outlets still function.
