I appreciate the honesty and I totally agree about the amount of time I had to figure out if the wheels would fit or not. I really wish I had not even asked the sales rep about the tires now and just done my own research. Lesson Learnt for sure.
Yeah it sucks and a crappy situation to be in but it happens and at least now you know the answer. Hope you get the issue resolved (y)

To me it seems like you dodged a bullet. Had they done what you wanted done and installed smaller brakes on the rear, you'd have reduced your truck's safe towing capacity. Those bigger brakes are there to handle the heavier towing requirements - which is why you replaced your truck in the first place.

Was at the dealership yesterday that I have been using for better than 20 years. Inventory is low of course and I looked at line of about 20 F150's they had. I asked why all the Lariats were 501A trucks and only one 402Tremor?
The salesman who has worked there the longest asked me if I was sure? He thought that couldn't be right.
I asked him "you can't tell from here?"

Nope.

Only 1 of the 3 standing there knew the difference in the headlights available on each trim. He told the other 2 "Yaw do realize that Bruce (me) knows more about all them trucks (pointing) than all of us put together?" ?

Nothing really special about me, especially around here. That's just the power of the modern forum. That and I've been driving Ford trucks for 50 years. I'm only surprised that a fella feeding his family selling Ford trucks wouldn't be a forum junky.

Would you have not bought the truck if the salesman said no? Pretty sure you would have anyway. You'd sell what you have and buy different rims and tires if you decided you can't live without "winter" wheels and tires.
To be completely honest, probably not. The max tow package was completely unnecessary for our towing needs. (6000lbs travel trailer) We spend as much time on winters here as summers and impact braking a lot more than a slightly larger rotor would. At the very least, we would have negotiated wheels/tires into the financing.

The hood would be the giveaway would it not? Straight as opposed to rounded? Regardless, I get your message. Never assume people share your love/ knowledge for what many just ignore. As a flight Engineer (crewmen) on the 47 Chinook I am expected ( and do) know every specification on that airframe. But needless to say, cannot just park that puppy on a cloud if something goes sideways... ;)

I have, got free mounting and sensors. AND a valuable lesson for sure.

On a positive note, I sold our old set to my wife's friends Husband whom, in all his lack of technical knowledge said to me. " Those wheels are so nice, I should put my summer tires on them!" He is riding on 18" wheels at the moment!?

I appreciate the concern, but for our towing needs, nothing dramatic. We tow a 26 foot 6k lbs trailer. The max tow package rotors are a joke, to be honest. they are 1/2 an inch larger in diameter. Just enough to not allow for 17" wheels to NOT be accommodated. Regardless, I should have dome my homework instead of listening to my sales rep. ;)

Good day all,

First post here. Just wanted to get some feedback, opinions on what I will call a "Case study" for a bath situation for
Both my spouse and I, and the Dealership we do business with.

Traded in a 2019 Screw STX 2.7L (Magnetic) in for a 2021 XLT 302A Sport 3.5L (Carbonized) on account of buying a 6000lbs Travel
Trailer.

Asked my salesman in July during purchase (whom I have been dealing with for 6 years) If my winter tires/wheels will fit on the new truck.
his exact words on "Yeah, they will fit no problem". Fast forward to December, Try to install winters, they DO NOT FIT. (17" wheels) Came the F150Gen14 website
and find out about larger REAR rotors. GO to dealership, ask to have rear rotors, caliper hangers and hoses replaced to accept 17" wheels, get told ALL FOUR corners will need to be replaced. I decide to sell our winters (at a loss) and buy new winter tires and alloy wheels. Find out after, that only rear Rotors are in need of replacement. So, twice I was given erroneous info.

I have asked the Sales manager for free TPMS sensors and a free mounting balancing of the new winter package. (Still waiting on answer)

DO you think I am being reasonable? I for sure accept SOME responsibility, but I have gotten, little to no support, not even an apology from my sales rep.
Sales Rep: "Did you tell me the size of your tires"
Me " Did you even ask?"

Just an awkward situation for everyone.

Really sucks to have sold those beautiful OEM Powder coated wheels ! Look forward to hearing any feedback!

What is a Screw STX 2019 ? I have a 2024 Tremor and put 17" rims on it with no problem !! The wheels are after market with 285 60 17 M/T Mud Hogs ?
