Hood rock/bug guard on lighter colors?

Anyone have pics of a front rock/bug guard on lighter colors? Debating on putting this on, but would like to see some real-world pictures as well. I did a dry fit, with the protective plastic still on, but I don't think I hate it?? It's matte black and matches the grille pretty well.

I think the light colors and dark colors go good together. Shopping for a bug shield myself but on the fence. I rarely see any 14 gen with them.

I had one on my F350 and the car wash ripped it off, maybe saved me from a few chips but where it rubbed the hood what a mess, never again.

You should have had a flush mounted one. No rubbing. No getting ripped off

I hand wash, so not an issue. But definitely something to note.

At this point, anything going on my truck is either white or matte black. I do like the contrast.

If it's flat against the hood then how is it going to push the bugs up over windshield? ?

Look at the pic. There is a lip molded in. It doesnt move or flex, so no paint damage. Nothing to catch to damage.

Plus you should be using cr washes with brushes. Too many brushless to go get sanded by dirty brushes.

I've always hand washed even though it's a pain with large vehicle. Never had any issues with scratches with shields on two trucks. I'll have to look at this style in more detail.

Got the Lund unit. Sits off the edge of the hood to not hold stuff against the paint and uses existing holes. I don’t know about bug guts but The reason I always install these is the number of chips I always see on any large truck more than a few years old on the front edge of the hood where it curves down to the grill. That’s probably the main thing they’re designed to fix.

Flexes quite a bit in the wind but I've never seen it bend far enough to hit the 4 rubber tabs that stick to the hood under it. The truck only gets hand washed or goes through a touchless so can't speak to spinning brushes or those huge carwash curtains hitting it.

Ugh. I still haven't put it on, as I'm still undecided. Maybe I'll try a real test fit soon and pull it off if I hate it.
