Took my 2021 KR on our first road trip this week. I noticed that at high speeds (70 mph +), when an oncoming semi passed us, the wind would cause the front left of the hood to pop up a little before settling back to its original position. It was slight but noticeable. Never experienced this with any vehicle in 34 years of driving.

Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be concerned it will eventually warp the hood? I googled the topic and it does seem like other model years have had this happen since they switched to aluminum bodies.

I wonder what Ford engineers would say - and if this was notice at all during testing.

Hood flutter has been around since they started making aluminum hoods. Roush started putting hood pins in the Roush Mustangs (around 2007) just for that reason. My 2019 Ram had it. My GT500 has it. As long as the hood is latched you're good.

At each of the front two corners of the hood on the core support should be an adjustable rubber pad (seen below on my Toyota). Check to make sure those are adjusted correctly. This will take the slack out of the hood latch movement and should mitigate the flutter (in theory).

Can confirm. This would happen on my 2015 F150 when driving toward high winds at hwy speeds. It never caused any problems.

Worth taking it in, my 18 f150 latch let go on the highway the first week I had it. Luckily the safety latch caught it. Dealership adjusted it and it hasn't happened since.
