Help with buying used 21-23 Tremor

It’s been a long time (2016) since I bought my F-150 Lariat. I’m ready to upgrade and have been looking at CARFAX.com for a used tremor (402A). Is it safe to trust KBB and CARFAX when they say the price is a fair, good, or great deal? The truth is I don’t know what price to start at with negotiations. I read that people are getting 5-7k off new F-150’s. Is this also for Tremor?

if the above is the case then a 23’ tremor with 10,000 for $63k is not a great deal. I’m hoping you all can enlighten me or steer me to someone on this forum that knows. I’m looking all across the nation and am willing to ship or fly out to pick it up. Also need some pointers on buying a car based solely on pictures. I am trying to stick to Ford dealers only and less then 36,000 miles so I can buy the extended warranty from Flood Ford and $100 over cost.

I'd agree that $63 for a '23 Tremor with 10k miles (depending on how it's optioned) isn't a great deal. I would think $55-$60k would be reasonable- but I expect lack of inventory might hurt you a bit when looking for a Tremor as well.

I'm betting you might be able to build a '24 Tremor and submit to Granger for the 3-4% below invoice price and get one in the $65K range (that price will probably be 6-9 thousand under MSRP)...If you can afford to wait.

Also, Granger has good deals on ESP's as well- I believe typically $50 over cost.

Yes, I should have elaborated on my specs. I am looking for a build of the following
402A
Torson Diff
Bed Utility
Trailer Tow
Moonroof

Bonus would be
B/O unleashed

So the new cost is around $73-74k

There are several 22 and 23’ models. 21’s are hard to come by

Secondly, it seems that all of these model years will have a combo of steering wheel heat and ambient lighting removed?? I usually see the steering wheel heat removed on the window sticker but how do I tell if ambient lighting is removed?

Finally, the vibe I get on this forum is that
21’ Tremors are the best and 22’ and 23’ have both had more stock luxuries removed by Ford from them. Can you confirm?

Early '22s had minimal deletes, I think this is the sweet spot; I only had to forego auto start/stop and Active Park Assist (added back and subsequently never used).

The ambient lighting and HVAC temp. display removal happened across the board starting '22 MY, but are easy retrofits, I would take the newer MY and add those back in for the minimal cost/effort.

There was another gentleman on here going through a similar search, and was finding the market to be high 50k's for the past few months. Personally, if I'd likely be searching for a few months anyway, I'd order a new one from Granger and save the time and effort to get exactly what I want.

Use the Ford inventory website to see what is available on 2023 models. I picked up a 2023 67k MSRP XLT this past week and the discounts added up to 14k off MSRP. I visited maybe ten dealers near me looking at colors and models and saw lots of Tremors out there.
