Sadly I did not see this post and am dealing with this too, except it was a cruise control wire. How'd you get so much slack to pull out? I unhooked the connector all the way up there and it doesn't want to pull out that far. It was also easier for me to go through the wheel well rather than remove the fuse box. If I can get enough wire to show, I could get right to it.
I wasn't able to get much slack out of the harness but what I did was pull the rubber boot back and cut away the harness tape to give me better access. Good luck. A

Already started that, luckly I found the two ends of the wire. I'm going to attempt to solder it back together and fingers crossed this is the solution. I'll keep updating as I go.

What all is involved with removing the fuse box? I'm going to be doing this this weekend unfortunately.

It's not horrible but you have to remove the battery and battery tray. Then you have to remove the fuse box which is separate and two parts and held together with the bolts in the middle of the fuse box that are connected to the plugs on the underside. Once you undo the bolts that go to the plugs you have to remove the wiring harness that's mounted to the fuse box then you can disconnect the bottom half of the fuse box from the fender.
