Heat Shield

2022 PB XLT Max Tow

The heat shield toward the rear of my truck is starting to fall. I have talked with two other owners who have had theirs fall off completely.

Any suggestions for securing this? I would rather not wait for an appt at the dealer.

I cleaned the bed of the truck above the shield with alcohol, let it dry and applied double faced automotive tape to the back of the shield then put it in place. I also used foil tape all around the edges (half on the bed and half on the shield) to help keep the edges from lifting.

Agreed.

Clean both the heat shield and underside of the bed with 90% alcohol and use some 3M high temp double sided tape. This stuff is amazing and as long as the surfaces are clean it will hold up to direct sunlight for years in the Texas heat. I have used it to secure dash cams and body trim items and never had issues with it failing on me.
