I tried that, but it said the procedure couldn't be performed. Tried reconnecting to the truck and again, but no luck. Someone on a Facebook group said it was something that had to be reset in FDRS, but I'm sure nor familiar.

Maybe try step 1 of the service procedure at the bottom of this doc as you've been playing with connectors / wiring:
