Those dots are "breadcrumbs." The nav thinks you are off road and is providing markers so you can retrace your route.

My GPS is all over the map, not accurate. It thinks I'm driving through the ocean haha!

Mine does that when I go off road. Gives you the compass and breadcrumbs.

Got to say I'm very underwhelmed by Fords Nav. Especially since they charge $80 a year for the privilege of using it.

I have a Garmin Overlander that is much more capable, plus it does Topo navigation also.

Why are you paying $80 a year when it is free unless you want updates? Few areas where I travel have new roads or new bridges that would affect navigation by the truck unit.

I'm not paying anything. But maybe the subscription model is why it's broken? Waze and Google maps use the factory nav when connected to Android Auto so they don't work either right now.

Some of us only have connected navigation vs connected built in navigation. This is also the only nav available for all of the 24's, connected, no more built in. If you don't pony up the $80 when your trial ends then it reverts to a moving map only and you lose the ability to input any destinations.

Thanks for the info! Does it know where you are on the map or is it completely lost like mine?

Mine seems to work very well but it is my understanding it needs a good cell phone signal to be accurate, maybe that is some of your problem.

As I recall, mine kept track of where I was. I had a map and that was it.

I had let my 6 month trial expire. I had thought the navigation would still be usable, just not update maps, have road conditions, etc. I discovered when planning a road trip the navigation was useless. You can't enter destinations, no navigation directions, and so on. It was a big disappointment. I bought a subscription for the road trip but probably won't renew.

Ford's navigation is pretty sad. Even Jeep did it better.

First I've heard of that. Most just use Google maps instead of the built in navigation.

I do use the Ford navigation and find it fine. I didn't like Android Auto murdering my phone battery.
