I appreciate everyone sharing their insights. I have a 2021 F150 Powerboost Gen 14 with the towing technology package and 360 cameras. I could see the Trailer TPMS in the towing menu, but like others, I only had the 2-yaw leads on my 12-pin connector. I replaced the rear bumper trailer wire harness (purchased through Ford Parts from Bob Howard Ford - $109+shipping) and installed an F250 trailer camera, TPMS, and yaw sensor on my trailer (purchase on eBay for ~$400). Everything worked perfectly, and I have a wired rear view camera, TPMS monitoring, and backup pro assist working for my airstream travel trailer.
Mine works as Ford designed but I will say the quality of the camera is lower than the Furrion it replaced. The perspective of the view is skewed in comparison to what I see in the rear view mirrors, the resolution is poor and there is no audio.

Mine being a '21, there is no trailer tire temp display. There is no way to set the temp trigger level. I know the sensors are capable but don't know if the truck even registers the information.

Also, the user-set pressure alarm level doesn't seem to be the point at which it actually alarms. Mine does alert with pressure loss (I tested it) but I don't know the the point at which it does that.

Despite that, I'm happy with my decision to replace my TST and Furrion systems with Ford's because I got rid of the dash clutter and it works well enough.

While I do use trailer routing in the nav system, it is NOT reliable. I've had it fail in the middle of a drive with a warning that it can't find a safe route. That, despite being in the middle of a route that it created in the first place.

I find the pro-backup unhelpful. The yaw sensor doesn't fail like the sticker system used to but it's not an improvement over mirrors and my hand at the bottom of the wheel.

That's the bottom line for me also. The system serves the intended purpose and not having the aftermarket clutter in the cab is priceless for me. (y)

Interesting. My vehicle is a 21 but a job 2 and it does read temp and the pressure alarm works as designed. My biggest issue with the airstream camera was the display (never bright enough) in the sun. I mounted my trailer camera in the middle of the bumper (drilled a hole and removed the camera from its case and used a rubber grommet) and the image looks good on the larger display. Best feature though is less clutter as you note.

Mine is Job 1. I know that affected the inclusion of a yaw sensor as opposed to the stickers for pro trailer backup, but I'm unaware of it affecting the presence or absense of a trailer tire temp monitor. I see no evidence there is one and there's definitely no way to control it that I can find, nor can I find any documentation from Ford regarding its existence.

The fact mine is an XLT with the lower-trim instrument panel may affect that. I can't use FORScan to display transmission temp digits, for example, because of the type of display. Lariat instrument panels can display transmission temp as digits.

Hey Bob,
That is my goal as well, having a 2021 Powerboost towing a new Airstream 27FB. The aftermarket monitor the dealer threw in is terrible and cumbersome. Can you link or offer any descriptive info on the kit you found on eBay? I'm pretty good with search engines but it always helps to use their own product info. Many thanks!

Thanks a million for the quick response! The previous owner of my truck left an uninstalled yaw sensor behind so I have that too! Looking forward to this, thanks again.

The parts dealer you buy it from may tell you it's not a match for your VIN. That may be technically correct because the TPMS/camera option was not offered to F150s in 2021, but the F250 part will work.

Make sure you have more than 2 conductors feeding the 12-pin plug at the back of the truck. If not, you'll need to replace the rear wiring harness. It's not hard, but it's a task and a cost.

The harness I used on my '21 job 1 XLT had connections for 6 rear sensors. My truck has only 4. I just taped off the outside sensor connectors. It all works fine.

My XLT Mid with the lower-grade instrument panel does not display trailer tire temps. Your PB may. The sensors are capable of detecting them but I don't know if the truck is. They definitely alarm for pressure loss. I was able to trigger an alert by removing the valve core. Mine definitely does not alarm @ 5# below the setting. It has to be more of a loss but I can't tell you what the logic is for how low below the setpoint it has to be to trigger the alert.

Same.

Your PB may.
Yeah, that's what I understand from reading several threads about this. I'll have to come back to the forum afterward and confirm. Will likely be a minute, I've spent the past few weeks in FDRS getting my software up to date (21 Job 1 trucks couldn't do OTA for a bit and mine had zero when I bought it) and I've got a few trips coming up. Thanks for the insight though.
