Garage remote visor - how is it powered?

Hey yall, how does the garage remote in the visor get power?

What I'm looking at doing is trying to disable the garage remote in the visor if the truck is not running.

Maybe this can be done programmatically via ForScan?

It is powered by the body control module. Once you close the door, the timer will run out after 20 minutes or so, rendering the remote inoperable until the door is opened. So, if someone opened the door without a key, the alarm will sound and if the window is broken, the remote will not work. You cannot bypass it.

Thanks man! Wasn't sure if it was always on, was worried if someone broke into my truck they could use it to open my garage and gate.

Can you park in your garage? That's the ultimate layer of security for your truck? Good question though I wondered the same thing myself.
