I have seen a few people install the F150 8.8" FRONT AXLE LIMITED SLIP TORSEN DIFFERENTIAL.
Has anyone seen or installed an Front Electronic Locking Differential such as an Eaton E-Locker?
302A 4x4 with 8.8 with e-locker in the rear.

retired!
Methinks that a 100% locked front-end could be a treacherous thing in all but a very few conditions - very rough on other front driveline components if outside those conditions even for a moment.

The Torsen offers much more utility in a broad range of conditions, IMO. But yep, you pay for what you get (with much less risk of incurring expensive repairs to other components).

Perhaps that's why the e-locker front isn't so popular as a mod?

Agree.

I had posi-track front and rear on a old solid axel Toyota Pickup many years ago and I Definity new it was there while driving on the street. The posi-track would skip and chirp going around corners which is rough on the drive train, but the truck was in good condition at 500,000+ miles when i sold it. I don't have any experience with the Torsen and assume its better as it has become OEM. Although, experience others have mentioned is "they know it's (Torsen) there".

I would rather be in control of when it locks rather than be a passive bystander.
I thought some OEMs (Rubicon, ZR2, TRX, Bronco, Power Wagon, AT4x, etc.) had gone to Front electronic lockers.

Not yet. Picking up my truck this morning. Already met with a gear/diff shop. Owner said no problem installing Eaton e-locker.

Forgot to post this Sunday. My plan is to install the Eaton elocker in the front of finances will allow it.

my Jeep has elockers front and rear. In the front, with locker off the truck will drive just like stock. When traction is REALLY needed just flip the switch.

DO NOT leave either one locked on pavement or good traction surfaces. The front will really bind and chirp and stress components.

I suppose locking the rear for a drag race in a straight line might work ok.

With the 'I live in Florida' caveat, does one REALLY need a front locker?

Which shop are you using?
Do you know the specs required in the post above?

Local Gear shop here in Whittier/La Habra. I know the location not the name. I can get it for you if you’d like.

What do you mean about specs? AFAIK, the current F150 has an 8.8 front and rear and eton makes an elocker for the front.

I had planned to go to 35s and 4.11 gears front and rear. My truck has 265s(31s) and 3.73 gears. On line charts show 35s and 4.11s keep me within 10-12 rpm’s at 60 mph so my theory was I would not need to adjust computer or shift points etc…. Ring gear size will be 8.8. Pinion will be smaller. I have no clue on tooth count. But I’m running 5.13s and 37s on my Jeep and I not concerned about it. Maybe I should be. I was going to use the factory axles. I know RCV makes CroMo axles for the F150.

But even though I’m looking at Level Kit, 35s,4.11s and front locker, my truck, Thumper, will remain a street queen, mall crawler, pavement princess. Only off roading I PLAN to do is basic dirt roads.

American Gear Shop

He will install the locker and gears if you want but he will not wire it up. He is a bigger dude and does not like getting under dashes. There is a stereo shop in the same complex if you don’t want to run the wires yourself.
