Is there a way to download the default config from a ford website if no backup is locally available?

@Vanarak19

The .ab file from that website is not always a true "As Built".

Be aware that the 'as built' on that website is regularly updated from your truck. It's done automatically in the background via the truck's cell modem.

So, if you've done FORScan mods they will be incorporated in that 'as built', it won't be actually the same as the .ab when the truck left the factory.

I've seen my .ab file on that website updated to reflect my FORScan mods in as few as 24 hours or less after I did the mods.

Note, too, the .ab file from that website will include any OTA updates and dealer updates the truck has received since leaving the factory.

So that export is really just a forscan and dealer update export, not an as built which is what I was ultimately looking for. Bummer

What exactly are you trying to restore? If the As Builts have been updated then you will gain nothing. You might want to look at getting a copy of the As Builts from a untouched truck. Get the VIN from an identical new truck off the dealers lot and use those As Biults to restore your truck.

Correct, on a fairly short time scale.

A bummer if you need and didn't back up a true "As Built" reflecting things as it left the factory.

Are you trying to 'back out' FORScan mods you did recently?

If they were very recent go back to the 'as built' website, scroll down to the addresses you altered with FORScan, and see if the changes you made are reflected in the 'instructions' column. If not, then you got lucky and caught an .ab file which has not yet been updated to reflect those latest mods.

Good luck!

Unfortunately it was not recent (10 months ago) and the VM I had everything saved on was lost. Is what it is. I can always go back and change the few things I played with...it wasn't a lot. I am having some battery issues but the voltage looks fine. Every 10-12 starts I get the funky chimes but the 12v battery is reading +13-14v
