Forscan advice for a rookie?

Did a quick search on Forscan but there are a million mentions on this site. After reading about Forscan and the changes you can do I am ready to dip my toe into this ?. Can a seasoned Forscan dude fill me in on what device to purchase and how to download the software and get started? Is there a good YouTube video out there to get me jump started?
