First Damage - Hit and Run

Got my first damage this week. 13k miles. Somebody hit the tailgate with something in a Lowe’s parking lot. Going to have to get a whole new tailgate. Scratches are deeply creased. Any ideas for old tailgate? Not going to be installed till December.

Check with Lowe’s about security cameras and whether they recorded it. Best to do it soon in case they limit history.

Seems very high up., way too high for a shopping cart. Did the bumper take any hit?

Also: I got a progressive rate impact bumper that hooks into my trailer hitch, not sure it would have helped at all.. (link in my sig) I would be pissed. Sorry about that.
