FDRS Update - Why Do I Now Have 221 Downloads?

With the patient help of so many on this forum over the years I have been doing my own FDRS updates since 2021 on both my 2021 and 2023 PowerBoosts. In that time I have regularly keep my PB's updated even with regular OTA updates.

The last time I did an FDRS update on my 2023 PB was about 6 months ago. At that time there was less than one page of downloads that I installed. Since that time I have been getting regular OTA updates, the last just a week ago.

To my surprise I just hooked up my 2023 PB to FDRS and was greeted with 13 pages of downloads with about 221 individual files. I have no idea what this is all about. Before I started the process I thought it best to ask our brain trust "what changed". Thanks for your help. Here are my downloads that FDRS wants me to download.

After the rookie mistake I got on the right page. In the past I recall initially landing on the SW update page. In any event downloading now. I did have 30 software updates (almost two pages) which is the most I have ever seen over the years. So much for OTA's keeping things current.

Lots of things are not able to be updated OTA. Those will always require FDRS

I completed the update. Five hours. It was much the same as the first FDRS update to get BC 1.0 working. Started with 30 files to update. In the end two gave me problems.

Audio Front Control Module appeared to update fine but it keeps showing up on the download list. Tried to run it 4 times it seemed to work but stays on the update list.

The Body Control Module presented a new problem. It would not install without logging in as a "Vehicle Security Professional" . No idea what that is all about but the BCM would not update without this log in.

ACM not falling off list is common. It installs but stays on there.

BCM has been a thing since this summer needing dealer login. Just wait and it should arrive OTA eventually. Many already have it via OTA. Unknown if future updates will require dealer credentials or if this is a bug.

I just did mine last week. Exact same as you, did ACM 3 times and BCM requires a log in. Good for now

Every time I do one of these big updates I consider it a success that I did not brick the truck. Short test drive and so far I have not spotted anything different.

I hope they put little red hearts or smiley faces by those upgrade files.

Re-scan now and you'll probably see a bunch of new ones (APIM, GWM, TCM most likely)
