Hey All..I have been reading postings here about the largest tire possible to get on a stock, unlifted, unleveled 2021 F150 STX 4x4 for weeks, in the process of making my determination of what wheel and tire package to go to. I had the OEM STX magnetic grey 18'' rims with the Goodyear Territory A/T 275/65 R18 tires. Very nice looking and riding setup, just wanted something new and different. Ended up getting the Ford Performance 20'' gloss black wheels from Stage 3. These are an option on the Lariat packages, and have embossed lettering and a great bright glossy finish. They were shipped from Canada and very well packed. TMPS included.
For tires, I was on the fence between 33'' [stock size] vs 34'' [largest to be guaranteed not to rub without suspension changes]. The jump up from 33'' to 34'' gives me only 0.5'' more ground clearance, and for most tire packages [4] would cost $400 to $650 more. Additionally, the greater rolling mass will probably degrade braking, handling and mpg. So I went with the Falken Rubitrek passenger series, not the LT series. 275/60 R20. This tire seems to have the best wet braking in the category of All Terrain tire with 'mild manners'. I owned a Raptor, but my crazy offroad days are behind me. I just wanted good braking because when it rains in Arizona, the drivers become stupid.
Result: Wheels look great, really impact the appearance of the car. Tires fill the wheel well nicely, and I doubt I would notice the extra inch of height.
All in all, a great option for someone who is not aggressive in offroad adventures, airing down tires, rock climbing etc.
Will get some photos up ASAP
Thanks for the guidance!
