Factory Dual Exhaust

I took our 2024 F-150 STX 5.0L in for warranty work and the dealership gave me a loaner 2024 F-150 XLT 5.0L with factory dual exhaust to drive.

I could tell the loaner was louder idling and driving slow, but it sounds great if need to accelerate quickly to merge with traffic. Last vehicle I owned that had a nice sounding V-8 with headers/dual exhaust was a 1966 SS Chevelle. Anyway when I purchased the F-150 5.0L was not thinking about how the V-8 sounds, but after hearing the F-150 5.0L with factory dual exhaust, going to start reading all the threads here to eventually improve the exhaust sound of my F-150 5.0L STX without voiding the warranty.

All advice is welcome!

Were the tips crooked? One sticks out further than the other on my 24. From the factory. Shake my head.

Take it to the dealer, it's an easy adjustment.

Although it should be perfect from the factory.

There are catbacks that will give you the sound you want. And it will not void your warranty.

I converted from a single to the factory duals. I listened to a bunch of 5.0 exhaust videos and they don’t compare to the factory mellow tone at idle or deep note at speed. No drone whatsoever, just nice sounding at all speeds IMO. I like the bumper cutouts and how the factory tail pipes are tucked up under the chassis. A lot of the dual exhaust setups cross right behind the rear diff instead of going over it to get to the left side.

It’s probably the best mod I did to my 5.0.

How much did the full conversion cost? I know there are other posts and threads on this, but I’m thinking about doing the same.

I would start with this thread Dual Exhaust
It starts out discussing Tremor and Lariat but it has all the details needed. The closer you get to end you’ll find part number details, differences in bumper ends vs sensors, wiring harness, etc.

You have an STX 5.0 like myself, I’m betting you only have backup sensors. Here is the parts list I worked from… again not my research but the contributions of of many members here. Also, this isn’t a cheap mod! As others have said you can get a CAT back for probably half the cost.

1 - ML3Z-17906-KAPTM Bumper Assembly Rear (no side facing sensors / only needs SAPTM/SBPTM below)
