if you have the power mirrors let the power open them up all the way. I heard manually opening the mirrors will cause vibrationAnyone noticed the glass on their tow mirrors are vibrating more than you would think or is it just me?
I switched from the small factory mirrors to the OEM tow mirrors and noticed that the glass on mine are more vibrating on the road.
Same here with my XLT.I have the factory tow mirrors on my XLT, they’re manual folding/extending and I fold them in whenever I park on the street. They don’t vibrate at all, even on shitty roads and I’m used to blurry vibrating mirrors from some of my motorcycles.
The folding mechanism is stiff and if it’s late and I’m tired, I’ll push them in with a shoulder.
harness was already there. you just need to switch out the panel on the drive side door.Hi fordhouston,
I just swapped mirrors with a guy that had tow mirrors on a Platinum and wanted to go to regular mirrors. We swapped, but not the door switch with the telescoping button. They do vibrate, BTW, but not horrible enough to bother me. When you swapped the mirrors to the tow mirrors, was the harness already there for the telescoping button? Or was there extra wiring that needed to be run? Thanks.
Thank you! How did you pop the trim piece off that holds the switches? Or did you take the door panel off and go in underneath. Thanks again for the reply.harness was already there. you just need to switch out the panel on the drive side door.
i used a plastic trim tool to pry off the panel. it’ll require some elbow grease but be very gentle at the same time.Thank you! How did you pop the trim piece off that holds the switches? Or did you take the door panel off and go in underneath. Thanks again for the reply.
