F150 Orders Placed in Feb 2022

Two things stand out here.
The first being I thought 2022 order banks were closed on May 13th for customer orders, and May 19th for dealer order. could be wrong but I am pretty sure that is the case.

The second is I have heard things getting dropped. Never heard of an engine being one of them. Also I have no idea how the Chip shortage would impact wheel size.

I order the following on 5/11 i believe.

2022 502A | 5.5ft Box | Smoked Quartz | 3.5 Ecoboost | Max Tow | OnBoard Scales | Twin Panel Roof | Interior Work Surface | Auto Start Stop | Ordered 5.11 | VIN N/A

Nothing has been dropped but I have yet to receive a VIN. so who knows.

I have read that trim matters on some of the options as well. meaning you might not be able to add an option on an XLT but if it comes standard on the Tremor then you are safe. Or if you ordered a package then again I think you are safe. My understanding basically is some of the individual options like co-pilot or 360 cams may be dropped if it is not standard with the trim, or package level.

That kind of makes sense as they are trying to get all these built and out to customers as commodities last.

The last thing I would say on all this is this. Your paying a LOT of money for a truck. get what you want or you will be forever wishing for something you could have had. Even if it means getting a MY23 or 24.

Thanks for your detailed response. I ordered from Canada, i think ford has kept canadian order banks open until Mid-August, thats what the dealership told me. I haven't seen these items being dropped any where else until now so it seemed quite odd.

Wow you ordered in May and still havent received your VIN. You think your order may get switched to MY23?

I feel like the dealership wants me to drop out of the deal and get something off the lot or order a MY23. In option 1 i will have to settle for a truck which is not exactly what i want, and if i go the '23 route, they will probably charge me a few thousand dollars more.

Max tow and the scales might be your problem as dumb as that is. I thought I saw something about the scales being removed from some lightnings and the max tow was having its own hold up not long ago.

I think scales, auto start/stop, copilot active 2.0 are asked to be dropped from the orders.

My wait is not uncommon for MY22 I have seen some people that have order back in December still waiting. although I think thinks have been picking up this year.

You should check out this sheet, and add your info to the tab without a vin if that is your case.

OK, February folks: I FINALLY got a VIN, with a build week of July 18. ?
Ordered on Feb. 18. Received the "scheduled for production" email from Ford 4 days ago while I was out in the wilderness. So if you're still waiting, try disappearing in the High Sierras for 8 days.

OF NOTE: My original order included the Tow Tech Package and the Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0. Dealer tells me that, to get scheduled, they had to let those go (bye-bye adaptive cruise control). Apparently I can still have the 360 Camera feature that I really wanted; though that apparently required them to add the Trailer Tow Package (not clear to me why).

MY ORDER as it now stands:

SuperCrew, 6.5' bed (157" wheelbase)​

Dealer says the truck is expected to be built at the Kansas City facility.

UPDATE: My truck -- ordered and confirmed on Feb. 18 -- was built on July 20. So after all my fretting (mostly due to rumors and Ford's poor communications), they actually built smack in the middle of that initial "4-6 months" window the dealer guesstimated.
It apparently hasn't shipped yet, but is supposed to roll out very soon... Not that I can tell, because the Ford order tracker only works for me about 1 out of every 20 attempts.

For those who have not received the initial ford email with your vin number and build date, call your dealer and ask for an update. I ordered a maxed out F150 Lariat in may and never got the email. I called my dealer and they gave me the vin number and the build date.

I called my dealer last week and he told me that I’m on the shortlist to be scheduled soon. I chatted with Ford Canada this morning and they told me that I am still unscheduled but clean. They are just waiting for a production slot for me. Almost 6 months now in my journey to get a truck…. No, to get a VIN.

I got aggressive but polite & nice with my dealer this week, requesting “Vehicle Activity Report” since no communication from Ford after placing order (#38 vehicle ordered in Ford F-150’s February orders) on 2/1/22).

Still didn’t get report (cover-up?) but was promised Ford will be sending me a email soon recognizing the order delay with no VIN and no current schedule production date which ended yesterday on (8/4) for MY2022. Next window for start of scheduling for MY2023 begins on 8/18. If fortunate, I may receive VIN & scheduling email later on in the month. Maybe I can get it sometime in Feb./March 2023.

Just promises from dealership management that they will do there best to move it along knowing My2022 scheduling ended while doing nothing last six months. Said “I‘ll receive communication email from Ford later on in the month.” That led me to believe 8/18 or later for scheduling, meaning MY2023. Actually nothing about this process makes sense. I guess one could say that I’m throwing darts…that’s true but what the heck at this point.? Only thing certain about Ford is uncertainty.

Ordered 2/25. Blend on 7/19. Modules are populated and FordPass says Activation Pending. Trackers still say in production. I have no idea what the delay is at this point.

Yeah, the dealer got 2 truck loads of trucks today. 15 total. All customer orders.

Fyi, if anyone interested, Snow Plow prep removes the auto air damn. Sales guy confirmed that for me. Had him look under there.
