F150 Hybrid AC question

Hi, my new truck arrives next week.

Can the AC run off the electric motor battery only when just sitting in the truck or do you have to start the engine? Thank you.

AC runs just fine on the battery, with the engine off. If it happens for too long, the engine will just start up to recharge the battery.

You nailed it, it will vary, haha.

It really depends how long you were running on battery before coming to a stop and how hard the AC is working. But in Michigan this week it’s been in the 80s, and I was messing with Forscan and other stuff in the truck so I had it running. It would cycle on the engine for about two minutes then run on battery for 5-10 minutes before cycling the engine again.

Yep! When you get the truck you can turn on Eco idle in the vehicle settings and it will run the engine at a slightly higher rpm to charge the battery faster so the engine runs less long on charge cycles.

With the PB how long does the AC stay on? Does the vehicle turn off sound and AC after ~15 min like non-hybrids? I.E taking a nap, would a person have to hit the ignition button every so often?

Dealership telling me truck has been built but is missing chips.

I order Feb 26 and supposed to arrive at Dealer Jun 1st. So approximately 3 months for me if no delays. I live in a rural area with small Ford dealers so it may take us longer.
