What is everybody’s opinion on the F150 4wd system? I read on forums all the time about people complaining about having problems their IWE’s but that’s about it. What you never really see is all the people who have never had a problem with them and have racked up a lot of miles on them. So, who has high miles on their 4x4 and hasn’t had any problems with it? The way I see it is that Ford wouldn’t keep using that system if it was a piece of garbage. They depend on the F150 too much. Thanks for your input.

I’m more concerned about all the electronic activating aspects.
My old k1500 is manual trans/manual Transfer case.
I did have to replace a transfer case not too long ago, and the sole electric portion of this 99% manual operation developed a broken wire within the taped up harness.
Had a hell of a time trying to find out why my front end would not engage.
These are the only issues I’ve ever had with any of the 4 wheelers I’ve had, it just so happens both faults on the same truck.

I've never had any issue with my 4X4 but I'm not a heavy user, nor have I kept one for more than 3 years.

I do know most folks don't come on here to say a bunch of good stuff, its to complain or seek answers to problems. The ones with no issues are out driving their trucks. ☺

It's the ole loudest squeak gets the oil kinda of thing I think.
