Tell your dealer to remove that spray in bed liner and get it done after it comes in either at the dealer or somewhere else. Spray in bed liners are delaying builds 3-5 months

This is correct, my dealer advised same thing. However, make note when they remove the tailgate to spray it will cause an issue when rear backup assist sensor, has to be flashed by dealership. I didn’t catch it til I got home

I prefer the Line-X spray in liner myself. The big difference is LINE-X removes the bed bolts and anything else not getting coated, applies the coating then re-installs the everything. The reason they remove the bolts is so when you slide a load in it doesn't drag across the liner and eventual cause it to peal back, which maintains maintain adhesion. And one more thing, the LINE-X liner is guaranteed for life.

When I contacted my installer to learn their process, one of the items on the list was something along the lines of "not start the vehicle until tailgate is back on/connected"

Line-X didn't remove my bed bolts, and I doubt they do even if they aren't coated. The bed bolts are single use, so you should replace them if they're removed. If they aren't coated, the shop probably just put tape over them and removed it.

New to this forum but I have driven F150 Lariats for many years and I just bought a 2022 Lariat. Its got the 5.0 V8 and 2 wheel drive (which I like) I got the 501 package and no damn twin panel sun roof which I never use anyway. Waste of money for me. I installed the spray in bedliner locally and added a toneau cover and two swing out tool boxes in the rear. I love the sync4 and have the copilot 360 and blue cruise and the chrome package. Love this truck and look for excuses to drive it.

Yeah that’s basically what the dealer told me. from what I read, it can even occur if keys are kept too close to vehicle while doing the removal / install.

Hi imnuts, I'm surprised your bolts didn't get removed. I would have been so mad if that happened to my truck. I use my truck as a work truck and load stuff into the bed often (not to say you don't).

A guy I grew up with owns the Line-X franchise I had my truck done at. When I went to meet with before making an committing, he explained the process to me and removing the bolts was something he mention the Line-X franchise trained him to do and requires him to follow. I'm not sure why your bolts would not have been removed, but I'm sorry they didn't as that is one of many reasons I chose to go with Line-X.

Another reason is they remove all the other hardware inside the bed (box links, tie down hooks, etc) and the plastic on the inside of the tail gate (work surface with measuring tape). They also remove the tail gate all together and spray the rear lip of the truck bed and the tailgate so that when you open it with rocks or dirt inside of the bed, the stuff that falls between tailgate and bed doesn't damage your truck because it's coated (see picture attached). This is another reason I chose Line-X as the spray in liner from Ford did not cover this area.

This spring I am planning on adding a color accent to mine as well. Look at the Ford Parts website, it doesn't look like the center bar is separate, so the only way to paint just that part, is a lot of masking.

I was leaning more to just using a Vinyl wrap/tape to color that bar.

I bought some inexpensive pinstriping tape in a couple different sizes. used 1/2" to do this.
Left it in place, just to see if i liked the look. I may paint it this summer, and swap our front tow hooks for RED ones.

That looks great especially on the Iconic. Any tips , advice or suggestions ? Also where did you but the pin stripe/color ?
