Ok, so this is starting to click now. These other online parties are selling the SAME plan that Ford sells you when you sign the papers? Is the process seamless when you have to take the truck in for service? Like today, they would check the issue versus warranty, fix it, and you pay nothing or a deductable. With the outside purchase, do they have this on file and it is the same seamless process, or do you have to pay in full, then file some kind of claim and a bunch of paperwork and hope for reimbursement?
Yes, they look it up on the computer and see you have it. I used it once on a recall, they had to provide me a car for the day while they worked on it.

I didn't even have to show them the card that was sent to me. It was on Fords computer, good at any Ford dealer. What saves me money is I don't put a lot of miles on mine each year so the rate with 0 deductible with enhanced car rental for 6 years is like $700+. A no brainer

I have seen some of this mentioned during various threads and thought it would be a good idea to centralize it in one place.

Online Ford extended service plans are much cheaper purchasing through an online Ford ESP seller. They sell tons of plans and save you tons on the price. I am listing several I have found that are close in price but there is difference. They are selling the same Ford backed plan, good at any Ford dealer.

I will tell you, it is cheaper to start the plan the first year with less than 12,000 miles.

You can purchase these right up till the end of the bumper to bumper warranty. 3 years 36,000 miles which ever comes first.

They offer options of various years, mileage and deductibles.

They also offer two enhanced car rental services, bulb replacement and key options. With LEDs and their expense, I get it and both car rental options. Both are cheap for the time period they are covering me, like $70 for the 6 year plan that I get.

All rebate back unused portions not used anytime you want. They are transferable so a good selling tool if you ever do that.

These plans start day one of the trucks service date. So a 2021 with a 6 year plan, expires in 2027.

https://www.floodfordesp.com/

I have used Flood and service was excellent but currently after pricing these on line to compare, Zeigler was the cheapest for me but you have to pay in full up front. I did not see that discount at Flood. In the coupon box type payinfull and it will save you something like $250 off. Without that, Flood was cheaper, I believe Anderson was the same as Flood.

Anyway just another tool for ya'll to consider and if you want one, here is way to save a good bit of money.

If anyone knows of others, feel free to post it here.

I would suggest you give your dealer the option to price match. Watch their faces when you tell them what you can get it for.

It's priceless!!

Admin-I may have started this thread in the wrong spot. Move if it you need to. thanks
I am planning on bringing a copy of Flood Ford's pricing sheet and offer them a chance to come close. I am thinking 6 year 000k miles? Maybe 7 year 100k? We will see.

Depending on where you purchase it online, you’ll have different financing options or you can pay in full.

Lombard Ford has the most options.

Once you purchase it, it’s uploaded into the Ford database
and you’ll actually see it on the FordPass app and every dealer in North America will see its in the system.

It usually takes a few days to show up on the app but it’s already in the system so no worries.

The process is seamless if you ever have to use it and depending on which level of ESP you purchase, the only money that’ll come out of your pocket is the deductible for your specific ESP.

This is a Ford backed ESP so there are none of those games like paying and hoping to get reimbursed. This is what one gets from 2nd party ESP providers.

The Ford backed ESP that you buy online is the same Ford backed ESP that you can purchase at your dealer when sitting in the finance office.

Thank you this is EXACTLY the info I needed! So I will shop online and walk in with that paperwork of prices. PLUS if I am forced to contract early by Jan4 to get my $2k PCO, I can at least start the ESP afterward when I actually get the truck.

The key thing is get it within the first 12 months/12k miles.
True, it’s cheaper to purchase it within the first year but,
if one waits until the 3/36K is about to expire, it’ll only cost a little bit more.......nothing crazy.

During this time frame, one can put $75.00-$100.00 dollars per month away in an online savings account, earn a little interest during the factory bumper to bumper warranty period, and use said money towards the ESP.

Another thing to do, and this is what I did was I used mY AMEX card to purchase my ESP and I received a crap load of rewards points.

Many if not most major card gives cash back so this is also a good choice.

Not all Ford ESP sellers take AMEX.

I spoke to Ziegler rep today and he said contract is tied to VIN number and it comes up when they process your repair bill.

I like getting it right away because I like the enhanced rental car option. That could benefit you on day one.

I can understand that because even though a vehicle might be under the 3/36K warranty, a rental car free of charge is not a requirement for any dealer to do, it’s a courtesy.

With that being said, I think your rental coverage of the Ford ESP only applies after the 3/36K warranty has expired and if you think about it, this really makes sense because you paid for car rental within the Ford ESP policy.

You still might have to come out of pocket for a rental unless your dealer offers free rentals while your vehicle, that’s still under the factory warranty is being serviced.

So let's say Ford dealer matches the online plan cost. Is there ANY advantage to buying it at Ford other than it can roll into the financed amount?

One more question for the experts: I remember they tried to sell me the interior/exterior protectant "nano" treatment, and I declined. Since I am now getting a luxury trim I am wondering if anyone recommends getting that or not. (my default is still "no" but just curious on opinions here, I'm guessing I already know the answer)
