Quick note. If you just read the first couple posts or jump around, you will think it’s a good idea to buy the VXDIAG VCX Nano ( I know I and many others did anyway). Don’t. Buy the Mongoose. If you read through everything you will see the nano will most likely cause new problems.

Quick note. If you just read the first couple posts or jump around, you will think it’s a good idea to buy the VXDIAG VCX Nano ( I know I and many others did anyway). Don’t. Buy the Mongoose. If you read through everything you will see the nano will most likely cause new problems.
I can only use my own experience. I have the vxdiag and have had absolutely no issues with it. Now I bought it before this supposed issue with them. But I do it’s driver updates when they are available and it not been a problem. I say that because it’s around $100 vs the mongoose that’s like $500. I’m just throwing it out there because I think it’s only fair to get both sides and different opinions. Good luck.

That's fair.
But don't do a CCM update with it, or you will be buying the Mongoose to unbrick the purple CCM.

Well I can’t remember whether I updated that or not. I’ve been on FDRS a few times updating lots of modules. Jesse had to help as I had one module that would just not show an update and it was bottle necking the rest but once he did some magic it showed up and worked great. Really if we want to be honest we should be using the ford VCM but they are so ridiculously overpriced for what it is. I think all these ones the mongoose and vxdiag are all some kind of knockoff. I will keep that in the back of my head should that module need an update. I think it’s important to note that these vcms have their own firmware and need to be updated as well. In fact whenever I use my vxdiag before I do anything I go to its little program and check for updates which there usually is one. Then I go online with FDRS or forscan. Maybe that’s why I’ve not had issues ?‍♂

Hi Jesse - I did it! I got the mongoose and the FDRS license and spent the weekend following the guide, battling restart loops, and running extension cords for laptops and chargers. I even discovered an alternate set of charging posts for the 12v battery in the Lightning. Would you mind checking my VIN again to see if I managed to do anything right?
Everything inside the truck seems to be operational, however the Ford Pass app got somehow FUBARed. It keeps asking me to update in-vehicle settings to enable connectivity. It is enabled in the truck however...

HI. I looked. Everythign looks good. HEre are a few paths to go with in this situation

First use forscan to rest the TCU and gaateway.

If that doesnt correct it

Unplug the TCU over night. Must be unplugged over night. Not for a couple mins or hours.

If that doesnt do it the last recourse is a master reset. I do not like master resets. I despise them. Unfortunately in these situations its one of the only times I suggest it.

Also Looks like your Date didnt change. So I can help you fix that if you want. I have a work around.

I would suggest actually unplugging it. Know wit sounds weird but Its best

WOrkaround takes an hour.

I had the same issue after an update Friday, and it did indeed reset some settings. I had to re-enable the location stuff to allow the app to be happy again.

That worked. Thanks Jesse. The App sees the truck again (except for the inability to schedule a departure, which has always been an issue for me).
If you send me the map update workaround, I may be able to dedicate a few hours this weekend.

I just bought a 2022 PB that has active bluecruise but I haven’t been able to use it because I see the hands free maps expired in October 2022.

I have that same problem. There is a software update that only the dealer can provide. It's an update to the "Gateway Module"

I'm having that done in two weeks.
