Hi @Jesse-Infotainment ,
Hate to pile on, but my head is starting to spin reading about all the various OTA fixes etc. Got my truck back from the dealer last week because I had a greyed out update button. Dealer performed a 22B08 ECM recovery, still no blue cruise but I’m at least showing a revision number now.

No OTA updates yet, I’ve taken to putting the truck on a trickle charger whenever I get home so my battery should be fully topped up.

I’ll take a look at how far away you are. OTAs are not a guarantee and nothing to do to make them happen. That’s good they got you that far though. A lot of dealers can’t even do that.

You are a long ways away from BlueCruise. You have a lot of updates yet to do. You can try and wait on OTAs. WHo knows. I am doubtful they will start rolling in. You ll have to fight them to do the rest of the updates or DIY

Here is my update - Dealership has had my truck since last Wednesday trying to get the truck to accept updates and working with Ford engineers. I have an open case with Ford. I got a call from the case manager and basically was told that the engineers do not know what the fix is for my truck and to come pick it up. When the engineers figure out the fix, they will send an update to the dealership. I think the only reason they called me today was Ford found out that I was in a rental car and wanted me out of it.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that trucks sold after mine have BC and get updates and I do not. I asked about a refund for the prep package and my time trying to get their flaw corrected. This was my third trip to the dealership. The case manager started to try and deflect that line of questioning. I just hope the lane centering will work since it hasn't since they started trying to get BC installed.

I may have to try the Jesse work around but honestly, I am not that comfortable messing around with the truck.

The Jesse-workaround is technically not a workaround. At least it's not a workaround the Official Factory authorized method for updating modules on a 2021-2022 F150.

It's literally the same method that the dealership has at their disposal.

This forum has a long list of members that chose to try it themselves, at the encouragement and advice of Jesse and others that have now done so. That's entirely true. But anyone, and I mean anyone can do it. Especially if they don't mind the investment of a little toolbox capital and some focus on reading the how-to.

My update from last week.. Just like a wise man told me,.the dealerships are useless. I took mine in for the second time for a dtc they don’t know how to clear with the battery.. I still can’t get updates even with Jesse’s method. They lied to me and told me it was fixed.. sent me home. The service manager acted like he was too busy to give me a report with a receipt so he emailed it to me a few days later. It showed that the body control module was reset to fix dtc. I hooked it up to forscan and it was still there. I don’t expect them to know how to update my truck but at least give me a new battery for the 12 v system to see if it will clear the code.
So This time I told them straight up..
i’m running codes on this thing and it must be fixed. I’ll have to start threatening ford for lemon law or something.
They did reinstall my windshield wipers and they are working correctly now.

Then…on Sunday when I tried to get gas my truck would not open up the fuel door. One electronic problem after another.

I’ll be going back to the dealer next Friday again .. so they can investigate the fuel door not working. And they will attempt to fix the battery dtc again.. I told him I know how to reset the body control module that’s not the problem.. you can’t just send me on my way.

Well sh!t.... Dealer #2 took a look, and they couldn't do anything on Thursday.
Apparently Dealer #1 tried so many times, the Ford server has my VIN locked out for 20 days...or so they claimed anyway...

So now I have to wait until the middle of September to even have them try

@Jesse-Infotainment Could do a check on my VIN and see if there is anything to see...Do you use the FDRS to access the information you are sharing? If dealer #2 can't fix it, I may need to take matters into my own hands.
VIN: 1FTFW1E83MKE04997
Dealer #1 finally got the backordered APIM in for my truck, so I had it there Monday to Wednesday, just got it back yesterday, and it looks like I may be out of the 1.7.1 purgatory, but it looks like they didn't bother updating anything for me.

Sitting at SYNC: 21146_PRODUCT ; Revision 145 now.

Thinking I'll give it a couple of weeks and see if I start getting any OTA updates, otherwise it may be time to pull the FDRS trigger and do it myself.

I did the Jesse USB fix. After several weeks the USB kicked off and I got an update (Version 21146, Revision 145). Nothing after that. My dealer called me several days ago and said the APIM they had ordered arrived and to come in so they could install it. I took my truck in and told them about the Jesse fix and that I didn't think I needed the APIM but could use more updates. They said they would try the updates first. After the first day they called and said they were still doing updates but that a Ford engineer was on site for something else and he was telling them an APIM replacement was going to be needed and it required removing the console which required removing the seats etc. to get to the APIM (isn't it just behind the 12" screen?) I told them to keep pushing the updates. Got a call this morning that updates are done and no APIM replacement needed. I'm now at Version 22087, Revision 415.

Jesse - can you check my VIN ( 1FTEX1C57MFB77260 ) and let me know if I have more updates outstanding? And thanks again for your help.

Makes you wonder why they want to replace APIM's regardless of any evidence that the APIM is faulty?

Afterall, you returned to the dealership with proof that the reason they declared the APIM faulty was not valid. Then after applying other updates to the supposedly un-upgradable APIM they STILL declared the APIM faulty. It's like they are in denial. Lol
