My engine coolant temperature started creeping all the way up to 235F after just 5 minutes of driving. I have noticed that the engine fan comes on fulls speed. Its in 60's here in Dallas, I don't recall my old EcoBoost to go this high even in 90-100F heat during summer. 200-205F most.

The truck is 2022 F-150 Platinum Powerboost, barely 1000 miles on it.

Anyone else experiencing the same ? I would like to see what is your engine coolant operating temperature.

FYI - I have a ForScan mod that enables digital readout for my engine coolant and transmission temperatures

Full operating temp based on my observations is ~190°F, though it hangs around 200°F on the highway in warmer temps. I don't think I've seen it over maybe 205°F since enabling the temperature display.

Holy got damm. I've seen my PowerBoost hit 230° pulling into the gas station when towing and getting off the freeway but that's just NUTS!

"Where did my coolant go" indeed.

I run about 200° in the warmer months. But when towing my 6x12 enclosed trailer it's 220° the whole time. Which everyone says is normal. These newer trucks LIKE to run warmer. Apparently it increases efficiency. I'm hardly a rocket surgeon so I'll believe the engineers.

Oh yeah, I had a feeling! Mine was low from the factory. Some have reported leaks from the exhaust heat exchanger piping, but I think that’s on a separate loop from the tank you showed? I’d get it to a dealer asap, as least for a coolant top up and record of the issue

Anyone knows how to fix this ? The dealer wants to keep the truck 2-3 weeks before they even look at it! With no loaner, no rental provided. Can’t afford that

So I’m late to the party but here’s my experience. Just bought a brand new 2025 f150 tremor 5.0 v8. When I was looking and test driving the truck at the dealer I noticed some coolant spillage is under the hood. I asked the sales guy and he told me that they top all fluids off when they receive vehicle from the factory. It’s supposedly the protocol. I didn’t much of it and figured it’s normal. The clans tank was full. Drove off the lot and when I got home there was some coolant spillage but a tiny bit. Still didn’t think much. On day 20 of ownership, I pull up home at night, my wife gets out of the truck first and panics says “something is pouring out of the truck” sure enough it was coolant. Next day I drive to work, parked and noticed more leaking. But, before I could even park I turned on detailed info on dash and noticed that as soon as I turned into the parking g lot the temp started to climb. Usually it rat 187-193F but this time it very quickly started to go past 200F. So I took the truck into the dealer right after work which is luckily 2 min drive away from my work. They diagnosed it and found that a wrong expansion tank cap was installed at the factory and the valve that was from a 3.5l economist was installed on my 5.0l v8. Anyway, picked up my truck today and everything seems good.
