Engine bay and hood underside are white on a silver painted truck?

2022 here Iconic Silver and most underhood looks to be white. I thought this was normal procedure,.

I have the rapid red and the same magma/dark reddish colors under there.

General question - do any Gen14 trim levels come with the felt hood insulator pads? I know you can buy an OEM insulator ML3Z-16738-E - Hood Insulation Pad 2021-2023 Ford F-150 | Ford Parts Direct (oemfordpartsdirect.com) but unclear if only trims at/below XLT don't have them or if no trims have them anymore.

Whether they actually do reduce noise is another matter...

I have a 2022 XLT and my hood has the underside felt lining.

My Iconic Silver '21 Job 1 Lariat is flat, primer-like white (maybe light gray) under the hood and in the engine compartment.

I was always under the impression that the Iconic silver was a metallic based paint. As such is done in 2 parts. The Base coat (White) which is done everywhere. Then the metallic silver, Which only get applied to appearance areas. My dad had a Metallic Silver 86' Vette that was the same way. My neighbors metallic red Ram is just red everywhere and metallic where it counts.

'23 KR in Star White here. My guess is either Oxford white or base coat white in hidden areas. The photos are using the same distance and angle of light of the fender and the internal fender lip; you can see star white overspray from the metallic coat on the hidden areas, which I think is great - they've ensured exterior coverage ?. I do have the sound deadening on the bonnet underside.

My iconic silver truck is silver inside and out. I thought they all were.

My truck did come with the hood insulation. Yay! But upon closer inspection the under hood and engine compartment is not finished the same as the iconic silver exterior. It is almost the same silver/gray color (definitely not white) but there is no metallic top coat. The metallic overspray at the panel edges is a giveaway. I am very disappointed… Now I will have to yank the motor and everything else to finish the compartment properly!

My Rapid Red Metallic has what looks like that Magma Red as a base color under the hood. The overspray looks like the Rapid/Lucid color along with the metal flake coating goes on top to bring it all together. Yes to the padding which helps with the sneakiness. Rams can’t hear what is about to smoke them.
I should have named my PowerBoost 300 Weatherby
