I changed a setting in the bcm to get the running lights to work. There is a couple of settings in the door modules that are for these mirrors but i only changed those when trying to figure out the running lights. The telescope as far as I remember is wired directly through the telescope relays under the hood.

Yeah, I went in and programmed the marker lights too. The only feature left to figure out (besides the telescoping) is the full turn signal light. When I went to change that one though the change listed that I found was already in the DDM. Once I can get telescoping sorted I’ll dig into that I guess!

I bought the ml3z17696da kit that has both mirrors plus trim and switch. I put both mirrors on and removed the window switch trim piece from the driver door panel. And swapped the window switch to the new trim and plugged in the extend switch and it worked. The plug was there already.

I wouldn't even both with the dealer to have the running lights turned on if you have forscan and the pigtail to make it work.
I did mine myself and it took less than 5 minutes. To turn them on in conjunction with the running lights I overwrote the code in the bdycm module with the following
726-40-01-xxxx-xx01-xxxx


Note you ignore the values that are populated in Forscan for the X values.

does this work for factory installed tow mirrors? I want the spot light to always stay on, but after 10mph it turns off???

Mine don’t have the spotlights so unfortunately I can’t help you there. You might have better luck in the forscan thread

nope. the trim piece for the window switch can be removed without removing the whole door panel. removing the door panel is still easy if you need to do that as well

What year truck? I have a 22 KR and am curious if that’s something I have or not under the door panel, wanting the tow mirrors that power extend.

It should bring a king ranch. Just pop off the windows switch trim and check for a small plug where the switch should go.

So do you have the 360 cameras in your truck or is it the fixed rear camera?

Just got back from dealer. Tow mirrors installed just fine and all existing features (BLIS, heat, turn signals, puddle lights, spotlights) were plug'n'play... except... "we can't activate the trailer mirror running lights because we don't have that option in FDRS [the Ford dealer software app]... but you can probably do it yourself in Forscan... but if you use Forscan you may void your warranty". So that was awesome.

I sat there and said "you're putting a Ford part on a Ford vehicle but don't have the option to activate one of the features of that part?".
"Correct."

Can anyone verify that a dealer cannot activate trailer mirror running/marker lights that come on when headlights are on?
