Hey all

I've been having.....Odd things happen now and then. I think these are just the way things are with the more computer driven systems. But just in case Im missing something I figured a post couldn't hurt.

1) Some times, say 25% of the time, my approach lighting doesn't work. No messages and the battery has been fine.

2) The center view on the full view cluster (IPC) will be on a different screen than I left it. happens a few times a month

3) The main display will for a very short time say "Saving f150" when I turn on the truck. once a month, maybe?

4) The main display will be on the wrong side tile. At least half the time.

5) Doesn't know what phone to connect to when my wife is in the truck. 1/3 of the time when my wife is with me.

6) Driving out in the country, middle of nowhere, cruise will turn off and say its unavailable. Lasts about a mile or so. Cant use cruise at all until the message goes away. Happens roughly in the same area 20% of the time. Day or night. cars or no cars. weather doesn't make a difference either.

7) Sometimes the auto high beam system will not work. I can manually turn on the high beams, but will not work automatically. Happens once a month or so. lasts 10-15 minutes after startup.

8) sometimes when wearing no seatbelt, the chime will be going though the audio system, then after a time switch to the speaker behind the IPC.

Like I said, I think these are just glitches and will be common with more computerized things get, But thought it was worth a post.

When I have seen this happen on my 22XLT PB, (the welcoming three-note triad) will come from a dashboard speaker instead of the sound system, which is what I think you were describing. This has only happened when I haven't driven the truck for a few days in colder weather and I will sometimes also see the "system in low power mode." Goes away after I charge the battery.

Wonder if your low-voltage system is on the margin?

Battery is in great shape. Almost always above 12.6v.

Come to think of it, That happens to me too, Very rarely, but that's definitely happened.

Get a new, and non-Ford, 12V battery. I beieve that Ford allowed a large batch of batteries to sit around on the shelf on installed in trucks awaiting chips. I had a few odd warning popup while traveling for Thanksgiving Weekend two years ago. Stopped at the nearest NAPA place and got a drop in replacement AGM type battery. Not a single peep since. Given your symptoms, just do it. The issue is batteries left standing for long periods of time without working have funny things happen to them, I believe mostly because there are impurities and if allowed to migrate, show up in these happenings.

I installed an Odyssey battery after the holidays. Battery is in good health.

I identified what happens in my truck from your list. Too many of these oddities are happening to too many people and it's getting very frustrating that Ford can't get these things worked out.

I'm taking mine in to the dealer next week and going over my list with them. I'm hoping for at least 50% of the issues being replicated and hopefully resolved.

Get a new battery. Not from Ford.
