It takes a great deal more power to keep the interior at 10 degrees for ice cream than at 35-40 degrees for dairy and drinks and cheese, etc. and the cost is far more to be able to have ice cream. We take ours out of the truck and plug it into a wall outlet in the hotel or B&B room.

A 16 quart AC/DC cooler can be bought for less than $100. If it was stolen it would not be a big deal.

Does anyone have a ~55L electric fridge inside their truck (rear seat up) or in the bed with tonneau cover? Pics? Comments? Suggestions? Theft concerns if in box? Havent seen a bunch on this forum or I am totally missing it. Planning to use with Bluetti AC180. Preferably an ICE truck (3.5) as that is what I have.
Not a fridge, I have Pro Power and got a small Frigidaire ICE MAKER. When going camping I put ice in a roto molded cooler, and then make ice with a small icemaker on the way there. It makes 26lbs in 24 hours, about a pound an hour, then leave it running on the trip and put the new ice in the cooler...

Works ok - its a small unit and quiet, I think it takes about 150 watts. again I have regular 20amp outlets that are on while truck is running. It's pretty small I put in the back seat on the floor right in the middle, where the 120v outlet is.

How well is this setup working for you on the road? Any issues?
Works very well. Used in UT in April for 3 weeks. Had Bluetti plugged power source in bed of truck snd the Iceco into the Bluetti. Great having cold/frozen stuff to munch on after a hot long hike in UT National Parks. Saved a ton of money not eating out all the time as well. Would highly recommend.
