Eibach Pro front struts set at 2” lift
Rocktrix 20x10 -12 rims
Falcon Wildpeak AT4w 275/60/20

I recently installed these Eibach pro struts that came preset to provide 2” of front lift for a leveled look. Very easy install. Looks are great. The ride is stiffer and very stable on corners and speeds up to 70mph. I can feel the stiffness but like it. As soon as I go over 70 the ride gets very choppy and rough. I’m assuming it’s the struts and at the speed every bump is exaggerated resulting in the rough ride especially on corners.

To rule out other things I have had the tires road force balanced twice as also had an alignment from ford. The specs are all green but not sure if there is something special for a 2” level lift.

Any thought from the experienced crowd if my suspicion on the struts may be correct?

I think it's likely an issue with the tire and wheel combo. If your listed tire size is correct, you've got that tire mounted on a wider wheel than it was intended (recommended range is 7.5-9.5). That's stretching the sidewall out, so you don't have the designed/intended cushion the sidewall is supposed to provide. You should have ~6.5" of sidewall with that tire when mounted on an 8-8.5" wide wheel. Unless it's some funny camera angle, doesn't look like that much in your photo.

If you went with the LT in that size, that would further amplify the problem.

I have the same problem with mine. I actually really hate these shocks. There is one particular bump on a corner on a highway near my house where if im not ready for it I damn near lose control. First time I hit it after getting the level installed I almost had a heart attack.

Washboard on dirt roads is terrible too.

I do not recommend the Eibach kit.

There isn't anything special that needs to be done for your alignment, but it is disappointing to see that the dealer never attempted to adjust your front camber. Your extra wide wheels with negative offset might benefit from some added toe in, but this isn't going to cause a ride quality issue either.

If you have to opportunity to install a set of stock wheels and tires, this would be your best option for determining if your issue is the shocks or the wheel and tire package. It is possible to have a set of wheels and tires that seem balance well on a balancing machine while also causing some unwanted vibrations at speed.

For reference, here's what my alignment looks like with the rear blocks removed and my front coilovers adjusted to a 1.25" lift. I drive aggressively and want my truck to handle well. Ignore the numbers for the stock specs, our alignment rack isn't showing the correct values for the stock specs.

I have the same kit but running 20" Fast wheels and Toyo 285/65R20s. At 70mph I am stable and quiet.

i was wrong on the wheel width they are 20x9. Not sure if that is still an issue or not.

I’m wondering if dialing back down the struts a couple turns to maybe 1.5 “ of front lift may make a big difference in the ride. It’s fine up to 70 then sketchy after that.

I have these on my 22 platinum. I have 10 turns off the max height and it gave me the exact same front lift as when I had the 2 inch readylift puck, with just a bit of back to front rake. Mine is not firm at all and at 70 and 80+, it's rock solid. I can't say that I've had it over washboard dirt road yet. I'm surprised that yours is that firm, but maybe it's the max height setting.

I haven't seen tire pressure mentioned. The Falken AT3W (I haven't personally driven the new At4W version) are notorious for being a very heavy tire (stout sidewalls) that ride on the harsh side when you aren't towing or hauling heavy.

I would highly recommend that you run 32-34 psi and also consider taking some height out of the coilovers. I am 10 full turns down from the factory settings on my Eibachs, and my Powerboost rides considerably better than stock........even with 10 ply Mickey Thompsons. I will admit that I have a grand total of 50 miles on my setup......so please take my review with a grain of salt!

The other option is to chalk your tires to get the optimal air pressure. If you've never done that before, just watch a youtube video or two, and you'll get the idea behind it.

I turned it down 10 turns from max that puts me at exactly 1.5” front lift (39.5” found to fender) and they do ride significantly better. I’m a little disappointed that they didn’t ride that nice at 2” front lift. Having them at 1.5” is tough to notice the difference…. Maybe it’s only noticeable to me : )
