Yep. They work. It's the same lamps as the illuminated approach, but you can turn them on when in the truck as well. Pretty bright too.

went out and tested
yes lights work but imo the booklet is misleading.
as you can only move the position of the lamps by selecting fold of the mirror which of course folds it and you cannot stop it or back up
or by physically grabbing mirror and moving it to a position you would like lighted

Well they are fairly wide angle lights so not sure how much of a difference folding the mirrors in would make. But yeah I gree, it's a little misleading on their description.

I noticed the phone as key thing as well. Just got a FordPass update saying it's enabled. But it sounds like it only works on Mach E's and Lightnings (Lariat's + up).

There's a setting in Forscan to enable it but form what @Jesse-Infotainment found the Lightning and F150s use different completely systems for that and won't work on the F150 if enabled.

Only work when stopped or moving slow, once you speed up they turn off.

PAAK requires the low power bluetooth module -- Lightning and MME have them. The ford fobs are stupidly large which makes PAAK that much more convenient. I drive the MME the most, but keep the F150's fob key set with me. One downside is that when the vehicles are in dog mode (light up on approach), it does it with the phone and / or the keys. I had to turn it off in the PB -- exhausts the truck's battery reserve too often.
